My connection is being really crap, and I'm suer tired, so this will be short.

Thirteen today was cool, but it always is so that's no surprise.
I ate too much chocolate today also.
We started reading the Ventress novel - it;s adorable but they are doomed to failure. You can really ship Quinlan Voss with anyone, but especially with Obi Wan and/or Ventress. There is a scene where he is stealing Obi-Wan's fries and telling him he doesn't know how to flirt. Lol. Where did that meme go about 'you know it's love when you order a large...'
Watched the season 3 opener of Rebels as well - that is a show that I want to have more depth and impact that doesn't quite manage it. Not keen on the full beard for Kanan, though I gran it is probably hard to shave. Not super keen on Ezra's hair either - I feel like it was a visual reference to the disconnect that's been growing between them, even though he'll probably keep it. Ezra is phenomenally stupid. Kanan is probably doomed to failure. There was a giant rock space moose. That's all I got.

Sleep now, probably I'll need to adult more tomorrow, in one form or another....

Can't sleep. Remembered that I hadn't posted for Saturday, so here we go!

Slept for crap yesterday because Nary's dog was having some kind of mysterious anxiety freakout and wouldn't stop panting/whining/pacing all night. She had it worse than me, though :/

I took her and her son to the museum this afternoon, which was cool/fun, but we had to leave early because I locked my sister out of the house. Whoops!

The three of us went to see Logan tonight, which was great! I'd already seen it, but they hadn't. But it is really tight, and I enjoyed it a lot - I noticed a lot more subtle background things the second time through that build on/set up some of the world building they did, too.

We also started reading the Ventris novel, which so far has no Ventris.

I should try to go back to sleep :/

Today has been A Day. On the one hand -I have been offered the museum job!!!!

On the other hand my 'exchange' laptop wound up being way more expensive than I'd planned/expected/hoped.

The new job will certainly help but it is annoying in the short term.

On the upside, it is just annoying and not financially devastating.

More when I'm not on my phone!

I stayed up too late last night for no real reason, and had a hard time waking up this morning as a consequence.

I did do a bunch of cool stuff once I got to the museum though. We recorded a walkthrough of me going through the VR Longhouse - I mostly wanted it to take screencaps from, since we didn't have any from this iteration of the program. But apparently they might use it for some other things, like... virtual virtual tours? or a commercial? There are some students from the local community college who are putting together something, anyway, plus something about some kind of partnership with Microsoft for skype tours? Anyway, then had some interesting discussions about the Database of Doom, and its future and uses.
Came home, did a teensy bit of writing on Space Swap, and helped with dinner. Tonight was knitting, and I got a bunch more done on my second sock for Pretentia. Going to watch the end of season 2 of sw: rebels here in a bit :3

The weather here today has sucked - it was sleety hail and snow this morning, followed by gross cold rain. It started pouring on the walk to the game café where we have the knit night, and I was chilled and cold after that. Probably the chocolate milkshake didn't help, but it *did* have bailey's in it. It wasn't raining on the trip home at least (though we managed to catch a bus), but the wind had turned bitter, and now it is thundering outside. But at least we aren't getting freezing rain and snow like other parts of the region!

I emailed the plot running types to see if I can find out what is going on with my LARP character, who volunteered to be hostaged off to some fey at the end of last game. I'd initially emailed on Monday, and hadn't heard anything back, so I sent a gentle poke. The next session is only a week from Saturday, so I don't think I'm being too pushy to at least have them tell me what to expect! I could NPC if I can't play her, and that's fine, but I would like to know :o

Jukebox, and online RP, ate all my free time today.

But I have a letter (and a signup)! It is over here!

Now, let's see if I can get anything off my plate before assignments come out (no).

Bedtime!

Mar. 29th, 2017 @ 12:36 am super productive day!
Current Mood: sleepysleepy
So, I managed to get up slightly before ten. And then my bookcase came! So I spent the morning - and the better part of the afternoon - putting it together, filling it, and generally reorganizing my room. I even put up more art! It's so much better now! And it was even easy to find a place to store my suitcase in the basement. And I managed to rehome all the random junk that was in the basket on top of it. and I can find the top of my dresser and there's a bunch of clear space! It really does make me so much happier :3

Other than that, I did bunch of writing - on the underworld wiki thing, and also on my Space Swap, which I have now started. And I made some NPCs for thirteen (we were each supposed to make an NPC for each other character... I am not holding my breath that everyone will do it, but I put some down, and it was fun).

Tomorrow is a museum day. I'm going to work on a short article for a museum web publication on the VR stuff... And then on the survey stuff. Probably.

All we have left of S2 Rebels is the season finale eps. *Braces self* I mean I know how things turn out but still...

Another day of accomplishing little. I got cat litter, and I cleaned the cat box.

Apparently the next Underworld day mod (and the last day mod of the season, ergo the last one I'm likely to be able to attend ;_;) is in Two Weeks! It's April 8. I did not realize it was coming up that soon, yikes! Well at least it should be a little warmer than last time.... hopefully. That said - I don't know where my character is or what's going on with her ;_; But that also said, if I can't play her for some reason, I could still NPC the day mod and net some frags (they're like... oog currency you get for volunteering/donations that you can spend on your characters in different ways).

Speaking of the weather, I'm debating taking the plastic off my windows. We're certainly past the worst of any cold weather, and getting into the season where I might want to actually open them. A project for tomorow, no doubt!

Other projects for tomorrow:
Space Swap?????
Jukebox signups
Jukebox playlists?
Put together a dresser
Work on the Dietremen write up? I did a bit of that today. But really, space swap before I have another assignment would be good! Why is everything time sensitive!

There is also a job I should apply for, even though it is in the US, and that is just such a steaming pile of Ugh. Ugh!

When will I hear back from the museum? Who knows! Who even knows.'

As a side note, I'm still on my old computer, which doesn't handle the slack desktop well. So if I am usually on Slack and you've been wondering why I haven't been responsive for the past few weeks, its probably because I can't remember my passwords so I am just waiting to get my new computer fixed first :p

Today was not my favourite day, wellnesswise. I had a LARP/Claritin hangover, plus first day bees, and mostly just slept and laid around like a miserable lump :/

That said, I did watch a lot of SW: Rebels, and we're getting close to the end of season 2 (about 4-5 more episodes). I basically know what happens but I want to see it! Hera and Kanan continue to be my favourites. I'm very confused about their relationship though. In some places it seems to be telegraphed pretty hard, but in others not. And tonight I read an old interview with Hera's VA who said as far as she knew they were not a couple - but that it might just not have been something she was told. But, like, clearly they are a couple? At first I thought it was just that they wanted to keep things sanitized for kids, so they never show either of their quarters it means never showing that they share quarters sort of thing, or that they wanted to keep it very in the background? But then there are things where there's *nothing* where there should at least be *something* - Like Hera gets severely injured and they won't show him holding her hand? Like even if they were really close friends and *not* romantically involved.... Really? (Friends, if I'm even injured and in the hospital, even if we are not romantically involved, it is okay for you to hold my hand and offer me comfort. For the record.) Anyway, it's confusing, and aggravating, because I really like how they are there for each other in lots of ways and damnit I want to see more of that!

I also watched a lot of original Voltron on Netflix.... Some of it is really painfully dated (they literally spank Allura when she tried to pilot the blue lion), but it is interesting to see things they drew on for the new show. One of the things I love that they do, and always helped garner some nostalgia feels from me, is the shots with multiple PoVs in the same shot, and the sort of fade-to-line art stuff. That was always something I associated with Voltron, and it makes me smile when I see it in the new show as well.

Anyway, sleepos time!

Today was a day of preparation and organization.

I Dealt With the basement, taking things out of boxes and putting them in bins, and reorganized some other stuff to make more space.

Then I got together all my LARP things for the event tomorrow. I am still taking all my cold-weather gear, as it is supposed to be rainy and windy and I expect it will feel colder than it is when we are outside in it all day and into the early evening.

This evening, I helped prep the birthday cake for Bubby's birthday - a really awesome Ninja Turtles cake. I mostly just mixed the fondant colours and then hung around for encouragement/moral support and to be cake-nurse and get things for the artist(s -Wererogue made Master Splinter as Longpig was finishing the last turtle) as required. It looks really really awesome! I'm sure there will be pics tomorrow, but I'm glad I got to see it. It is covered all over in dark green fondant with the turtles and Splinter in relief around the side, and a manhole cover and the 'Happy birthday' on the top in yellow. It is two cakes hight but I'm not sure if they are split or if it is just two layers. One layer is chocolate, and the other is vanilla with mini chocolate chips. I also saw a giant Optimus Prime piniata being filled with candy... I hope they have fun!

I'm going to go take a shower and try to go to bed. I have to be up fairly early tomorow - I'm being picked up at 8, but we are doing breakfast first, so I won't have to worry about that, just walking the dogs and getting dressed!

Mar. 24th, 2017 @ 12:54 am SPACE!

So, the cabinet/stacked drawer thingy I ordered came today, so after I got back from the museum (where I finished and turned in my summary report of the VR surveys), I put it together, and then started reorganizing my room. I got rid of the small bin of papers and Stuff, and cleared out a bunch of things from my dresser, which now only holds Things I Actually Use, for the most part.

Inspired by this, I stated thinking about other ways to save space... Which really means I want a bookcase. This will let me take the books that were in that box and are now in drawers and put them somewhere better for them that I can also access, and free up those drawers of things like, oh, probably yarn if I'm being honest, as it is overflowing from its assigned space, as yarn is wont to do >.>

I tried going to Walmart for a bookcase, but they didn't have what I wanted, or much at all for book cases. I did buy myself a real garbage can, so that I can repurpose the actually pretty nice wicker basket I'd been using to replace the cardboard box of stuff that is sitting on top of the suitcase full of Stuff that is sitting where this bookcase is gong to go (and the basket can still live on top of it). Whew. I did buy some big 25 gal. rubbermaids while I was there, and cancelled the ones I'd ordered from Amazon. I'm going to do that repackaging tomorrow, at some point. Maybe I should take an allergy med now to stave off the exhaustion that typically follows when I take one.

Meanwhile, I ordered a bookcase from Amazon which should fit perfectly, and should be here probably on Tuesday (but maybe earlier). I guess I can pack away some wintry things (such as I have, anyway) in the suitcase before it finds a new home downstairs?

Anyway - things are getting better in here - things are more accessible, if nothing else, and a few more things are put away. But not everything. I still have waaaay too much stuff. Some of it will just stay in storage until I have a space to put it, but some I think needs to be gone through and purged. If only I could get to it... I'm definitely taking a basket or a bag to put donation items in when I go through stuff tomorrow.

But for now - sleepos!
