Hey guys! Two things that are interrelated!

So slashcast is doing fandom resolutions! If you have a new year's resolution for fandom (e.g. "I want to comment more on the fic I read" or "I want to write more fic outside of fests, exchanges, or big bangs" - both of which are resolutions I have for the new year :)), then you should head over here and let us know! In line with that... one of the resolutions I have is to write more fic - not for fests, not for exchanges, no for big bangs - just because. Which... I just did! It's a short little apocalyptic Glee ensemble fic (3000 words) with all canon pairings (but my Pezberry-shipping heart wasn't able to keep the tiniest hint of Rachel/Santana out of it, so there are allusions to that, too) inspired by a comment by Dr. She Bloggo, and it's at my A03 account. In an attempt to remind themselves of their place in magical history amid such unpleasantness, this graduating class has made a choice no other has before: to stage a get-together at Hogwarts five years after their education was completed - in Muggle parlance, a “reunion.” It’s a chance for them to relive the good, the bad, and the terrifying of their school days. DORKY PRIDE WEEK.

You know those random facts you know or those random things you remember that are so dorky they're potentially embarrassing but you really know that they're somehow fantastic? Or that random movie that almost no one remembers but you know word-for-word? Or that book (or series of books) that was intensely amazing and popular and which you positively adored but which most people around you seem to have let trail away?

KFKDFGH NOW IS THE TIME TO LET IT ALL OUT. MAKE YOUR DORKY, AMAZING REFERENCES. DO IT AT LEAST ONCE PER POST, OR IF NOT THAT, AT LEAST ONCE IN THE UPCOMING WEEK. TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME. So acidpop25 mentioned a hankering for a rarepair remix. Today, we discussed the topic, came up with some thoughts, etc. etc. eg: No pairings that are listed as 'major pairings' here or here, no pairings that include two 'major' characters (Trio, Ginny, Draco, or Snape, namely), etc. etc. Participants would have to have at least five rarepair fics, and would get one 'safe' fic (one that no-one will remix), and one more with each additional five rarepair fics. Sound like fun? I thought so.

We're thinking of giving about two, two and a half months' writing time, BUT we want to know when the best time to have the fest (in the humble opinions of all you lovely fandomers out there :D) is.





In conclusion: capitol_barbie, where are you?!

I know there are more of you out there, people who absolutely adore Colin Creevy and are verreh upset about the end bit of Deathly Hallows which I shall not mention on the off-chance that there is ANYONE IN THE WORLD ON MY FLIST who has not read DH and still wants to.
