- (Christianity) The doctrine that the faithful, specifically including laity, should receive Communion under both kinds (sub utraque specie), that is to say, receive both bread and wine during the Eucharist.
使用する際の注意点
Historically, first proposed during the Bohemian Reformation (aka Hussite Reformation) and associated with Hussitism. At the time, Communion wine was reserved for the clergy only.

Utraquism (from the Latin sub utraque specie, meaning "in both kinds") was a Christian dogma first proposed by Jacob of Mies in 1414. It maintained that the Eucharist should be administered "in both kinds" — as both bread and wine — to all the congregation, including the laity. (The practice among Roman Catholics at the time was for only the priests to partake of the wine).
