1. To leave, especially a building.

   Please go out through the back door.

2. (idiomatic) To leave one's abode to go to public places, especially for recreation or entertainment.

   Antonym: stay in

   They were going to stay in and read, but instead went out shopping.

   On their first date they went out to dinner at a restaurant.

   Let's go out tonight and have some fun!
