- (derogatory, politics) Centrism that is perceived as condescending because it treats all positions as equally valid or flawed without engaging with their actual merits, often dismissing genuine ideological differences as mere extremism while positioning compromise or moderation as uniquely rational and above the fray.
使用する際の注意点
- This term is often used by both the left and right to criticize politicians and media figures who attempt to equally appeal to opposing viewpoints so that they can maximize their support, in a way that is seen as unprincipled or overly cautious.
