The EIC accredits/recognizes Quality Providers of engineering continuing education after assessing the provider’s learning development and delivery processes against requirements that are based on international continuing education standards. The EIC authorizes accredited Providers to award EIC continuing education units, either “EIC-accredited CEUs” or “EIC-accredited PDHs” for their eligible training activities and to use the EIC logo as evidence of third-party accreditation.
The purpose of the EIC Continuing Education Recognition Program is to help engineering professionals identify quality training providers and facilitate their record keeping when activities occur with various providers across Canada. This is increasingly important as most licensing bodies have adopted explicit professional development requirements as a licensing condition. Trainees interested in having their CEUs/PDHs centrally registered in EIC’s secure online Registry must explicitly authorize the Learning Providers to upload their training records. The EIC keeps the trainee information confidential and allows each individual trainee to freely access a transcript of their uploaded records. The trainee’s email address is used as their account’s username.

Single Event Providers
In addition to the above-listed accredited program providers, the EIC may accredit single course providers so they may issue Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to their successful course trainees.
To apply for a single event accreditation/approval, complete the CEU Single Course Application Form, and email it to [email protected].
For program auditing purposes, the EIC administers from time to time a Course Participant Survey to randomly selected participants of continuing education programs offered by our accredited providers. The results of such surveys are confidential and will be shared anonymously with the pertinent provider if an important performance issue requires attention.
