Official Journal of EFFoST2026

Wiley and the European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST) are pleased to announce a new collaboration to advance research and innovation in the field of food science. As part of this agreement, the Journal of Food Quality, published by Wiley, has become the official journal of EFFoST and will publish special issues related to the EFFoST Annual Conference.

Under the leadership of the joint Editor-in-Chief team, Professor Anet Režek Jambrak, who also serves on the EFFoST Board, and Wiley’s Dr Julia Reuter, the Journal of Food Quality will continue to serve as a key platform for high-quality research in food quality, safety, and innovation.

The Journal of Food Quality is a peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that publishes original research articles and review papers covering all aspects of food quality. The journal aims to provide a valuable resource for food scientists, nutritionists, food producers, the public health sector, and governmental and non-governmental organisations with an interest in ensuring and enhancing food quality.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to bridging research and practice, fostering collaboration, and supporting the dissemination of scientific knowledge that drives progress across the global food system. EFFoST members are encouraged to contribute actively to the journal—as authors, reviewers, and editors—helping to shape its scientific direction and impact.

Both Wiley and EFFoST look forward to advancing the field of food science through this important initiative. Further details regarding submission opportunities and member benefits will be announced in due course.

Special Issue

As part of this collaboration, a Special Issue will feature a selection of outstanding research presented at the 39th EFFoST International Conference (EFFoST2025). This issue, aligned with the conference themes, will be published in the Journal of Food Quality. The Conference Organising Committee will invite selected authors to contribute, and all articles will undergo a rigorous peer-review process led by the Editors-in-Chief and the EFFoST2025 Guest Editor. More information on the Special Issue and submission process will be available following the conference.
