Paddle paddle!
Last night, I went rowing in water for the first time, having practiced for weeks on the rowing machine. A most fun experience but definitely one you have to concentrate through.
Despite my best efforts I didn't manage to fall in the water, although I'm told this will become more likely as we progress to different sized boats. Also and rather disturbingly, the club wants to have me scull (row single handedly) in a boat. They don't seem to understand that me steering a boat on my own and getting lost down the Thames is not going to make for a good news item :) Funny really, I didn’t think I was doing too well because I kept banging in to the guys oar behind me. It wasn’t until the class finished that the instructor told me he’d just been sitting there smiling at stroking his oar, rather than actually moving it. There are some most odd people in the world.
Great fun though, I highly recommend rowing for anyone who wants a good cardio workout but who can't run.
In other news, I must decide today where I'm going to see Transformers 2 tomorrow. I think Leicester Square at this point just because it's huuuge and Transformers deserves nothing but the best. Having said that it is likely I will come out with a headache :) as they don't seem to understand the concept of a volume control at that one.
I absolutely cannot wait, so many fun characters making a new appearance. Will report back tomorrow with my thoughts and absolutely no spoilers.
