FAQ - Technical
Some of the most frequently asked IT and technical questions regarding the EDITLife transplant management software system
Is EDITLife for Cell Therapy and Solid Organ Transplant a web-based solution or client-server application?
EDITLife is a web-based transplant management software system. EDITLife simply requires the installation of an approved web browser on the workstation, such as Google Chrome (version #44.0.2403.125m and above) or Internet Explorer 11 or above.
The application is hosted in the client’s compute environment, deployed on the client’s servers. This on-premises or private cloud deployment ensures data remains within the client’s secure infrastructure, meeting institutional policies and regulatory requirements – giving the client full control over data access, backup, and security while allowing seamless integration with internal systems.
Please describe your licensing model. Is it per seat, CPU, concurrent, etc.?
The licensing model for EDITLife provides a single-site enterprise license, which includes an unlimited number of users for the licensed modules and interfaces at that location.
Can legacy data be migrated to EDITLife?
Yes, Cellular Therapy, Cell Processing Lab, and Solid Organ Transplant historical data – from the EHR, databases, spreadsheets, or other sources – can be imported into EDITLife. As part of its EDITLife Interchange Structure (EIS) process, the EDITLife team provides a standard set of formats for the hospital’s IT team to use to export legacy data.
The EDITLife Implementation Team will work very closely with your hospital IT staff to ensure that the data migration process is as seamless as possible.
Can EDITLife be interfaced to our EHR? If so, what interfaces are available?
To reduce data entry and improve data integrity, the EDITLife software system seamlessly interfaces with all hospital EHRs. In addition to offering an extensive list of available in/outbound interfaces, we are experts at developing custom interfaces.
Discrete Data Inbound Interfaces
- Admission/Discharge/Transfer Interface
- Labs Interface
- Serologic Tissue Typing Interface
- Molecular Tissue Typing Interface
- Medication Interface
- Vaccination Interface
- ASTM Hematology Cell Counter Interface for LABHero
Non-Discrete Data Inbound Interfaces
- Observation Reports
- Procedure Links and/or Text
- Files and Photos
OUTBOUND interfaces for Cell Therapy and/or Solid Organ Transplant include:
- Selection/Care Conference
- GVHD Assessments (Acute and Chronic) (Cell Therapy only)
- Notes
- Consults
- UNOS Status Changes (Solid Organ Transplant only)
Does the EDITLife software system have a database to store our data?
Yes, the EDITLife system has an MS SQL Server 2012 R2 database for storing your transplant center’s Cell Therapy and/or Solid Organ data.
What system documentation materials do you provide?
During a kick-off meeting at the beginning of implementation, every client receives a very comprehensive Enrollment Kit that outlines the entire implementation and go-live processes. The kit includes hardware/software requirements, technical and application, installation and function, trouble-shooting processes, end-user documentation, and training materials.
