
Cerasela Voiculescu
C. Voiculescu (21 September 1978) is a business developer & founder and a political sociologist (PhD in Sociology 2013, University of Edinburgh, full College of Humanities studentship, Edinburgh University and full PhD scholarship Dinu Patriciu Foundation, 3 master degrees), generally interested in power, capital and European security. During PhD studies in the UK, she was a Lecturer with 0 hours, open ended contract at Edinburgh Napier University (2012- ), university teaching assistant Edinburgh University (2010-2015), researcher for Norwegian Social Research, Oslo-Edinburgh and offered a seminar lecture at the Glasgow University in 2011. Previously, she studied at American (Central European University, MA Full Fellowship 2007) and Swedish universities (Umea University, Erasmus exchange 2003) and she won national (CNCSIS 2005) and international research grants (GDN 2005), worked in an international research project (FOROST-Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich 2006-2007) and as a permanent researcher at the romanian academy (2004-2006). She started research and publishing in 2002, teaching master students and a PhD in Sociology at the University of Bucharest in 2004. Between 2007-2008 she lived in Manchester, UK and in 2008, moved to Edinburgh for a new PhD in Sociology. Her first academic interview in the UK was before her PhD viva, in 2013 June and had many interviews for academic jobs after, most of them in the UK and three Western European countries (13 academic interviews in one year and a half). After PhD, lacking academic connections and funding for UK universities (questions they ask during interviews for senior lectureship and lectureship in the UK), she offered consultancy to a local charity organisation in Glasgow and reviewed her Phd thesis which has been published with Routledge (Oct 2016). She has also worked more than 6 years as a face to face translator with Sheriff courts, HMP prisons, police stations, hospitals, schools, council and tax offices all over Scotland and also a phone translator more than 5 years with NHS, HMRC, DWP, detention centres, English police and UK border force. In March 2022 she founded her first company and together with young prospective researchers/experts, holding prestigious PhDs in finance economics, she is looking forward to a long and fruitful business career in the field of capital investments, in Western Europe (Frankfurt-Nice axis).
