Biomass screening for the production of biofuel

Separation quality for compost and top productivity in smaller spaces

The cost-effective production of biomass for production of energy is currently an important business activity, but only if it is supported by sources of suitable quality and an efficient recycling process. Ecostar has developed specific and extremely efficient solutions for the screening of green compost resulting from pruning and deforestation activities in order to produce high-quality biofuel and biogas

The importance of the screening process for the production of biogas

The processing and screening of biomass enables the conversion of various wood types into a viable fuel source for small, medium, and even large-scale power plants and boilers. Though the ground biomass wood must be clean in order to obtain the best performances.
It is precisely in this phase that disc screen technology is able to separate the biomass from aggregates and dirt and simultaneously separate the chips by size. Ecostar screening solutions are equipped with the patented DDS (Dynamic Disc Screening) technology that reduces maintenance costs and downtime thanks to the special discs, hexagonal or octagonal, made of Hardox that are highly durable over time. Moreover, DDS, in addition to reducing clogging and wrapping, enables the use of smaller electric motors, thus can reduce the energy consumption of up to 70 percent compared to traditional separation systems.

The advantages of Ecostar solutions for the industrial biomass separation process

Our screens provide excellent separation quality, even when the material is wet or mixed with plastics or dirt. High productivity and low energy consumption (with a 7.5 kW electric motor every 4 meters of screening surface) are merely the most obvious advantages of Ecostar stationary and mobile solutions. In addition, thanks to DDS technology, the operator can benefit from reduced downtime, few cleaning operations, and reduced maintenance. Ecostar screens can treat up to 200 T/H of biomass, including wet biomass, in fractions of 10, 20, 30 50, 80, 100, and 200 mm.
