Our So You Start servers include our vRack private network, so you can create a cluster or integrate your server into an existing infrastructure. This network is isolated from the internet, and is offered at no additional cost.
Additional public bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps
Our dedicated servers have a default public bandwidth. Depending on your project’s resource requirements, you can choose an additional guaranteed bandwidth option. This ensures constant throughput for your incoming and outgoing traffic.
Up to 1 Gbps additional private bandwidth
Our dedicated servers come with access to our private physical network, the vRack. By selecting an additional bandwidth option, you increase the data transfer rate between your servers across all our datacentres. The vRack private network is compatible with other OVHcloud solutions, such as dedicated servers, Private Cloud and Public Cloud.
Load Balancer
The OVHcloud Load Balancer distributes the traffic load on the IP addresses for your services hosted in our datacentres. You will need to use this option if you want to distribute your traffic across several servers (e.g. for an e-commerce website). You can also use it to detect unavailable servers, and redirect traffic to one or more functioning servers.
Anti-DDoS protection
To guarantee maximum security for your infrastructures, our anti-DDoS system is included with all OVHcloud dedicated servers.
Game DDoS Protection
Our anti-DDoS service is available on Game servers from the Eco range. This DDoS protection, specially designed for video games and e-sports, is essential for game hosting platforms to counter the industry’s frequent and massive DDoS attacks.
OVHcloud Connect
With OVHcloud Connect, you can link your network to your infrastructure in our datacentres. This high-speed private link is completely isolated from the public network, and perfectly secure.
IP
IPMI over IP
The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) console can be accessed via the OVHcloud Control Panel or API, and provides you with a direct connection to your dedicated server. Even if your server becomes unavailable, you can keep control of your machines through its public IP address.
IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
Each server has a public IPv4 address and an IPv6 address range.
Bring Your Own IP
With the IP address bringing service (BYOIP) provided by OVHcloud, you can bring your own public IPv4 address ranges and use them as additional IP blocks.
It is a simple way to ensure that your company’s public connectivity is maintained. This is especially the case when you migrate some or all of your services to the cloud.
Additional IP
Additional IPv4 addresses can be transferred between OVHcloud servers, providing failover capabilities. These IP addresses can also be geolocated in 14 countries.

How do I choose a dedicated server?

How does a dedicated server work?
A dedicated server is a machine entirely dedicated to one person or organisation, hosted on the internet to host a website or application. Unlike shared servers, where resources are shared, a dedicated server offers optimal performance and full control over resources. Furthermore, unlike virtual servers, which use virtualisation to distribute resources, a dedicated server allocates all resources to its user, providing full control over the machine’s security and configuration.
A dedicated server is made up of several components, such as RAM, the processor and storage space. Businesses or organisations will opt for a dedicated server when they need higher performance or want complete control over their machine.
What are the advantages of a dedicated server?

What do the setup fees include?
The setup fees cover the costs of assembling and connecting your server in our datacentres. They are billed only once when the service is set up, and are not linked to the contract duration. For a subscription of 12 months or more, the setup fees for your dedicated server are free.
When can I order the add-on options offered?
The add-on options are available as soon as your server has been configured. You can also order and enable them directly via the OVHcloud Control Panel, after your service has been delivered.

What are the advantages of the vRack private network?
The vRack is a physical private network that is isolated from the internet, which allows you to create a cluster or connect your server to an existing infrastructure, at no additional cost. With the vRack, you can secure exchanges between your web server and your database by disabling the public IP address of the dedicated server you want to protect.
