To use eBuddy, you need to sign up for a free eBuddy account after installing the app on your phone. Once you have completed the registration process, you can start importing your contacts from various IM and social networks by signing into them within eBuddy Mobile Messenger.

Once set up, you will see a list of all your online and offline contacts in the main window. Starting a conversation is as simple as clicking on a person's name to open the chat tab. The chat interface is visually appealing, with speech bubbles making it easier to follow conversations and reducing clutter compared to other IM apps.

However, eBuddy does have some limitations. The Android version lacks certain chat options, such as the ability to send pictures and files or insert quick text from a list of common phrases. While you can view a buddy's profile and add emoticons, the preset emoticons within eBuddy Mobile Messenger are basic. It is possible to download new emoticons from eBuddy, but the selection is limited.

eBuddy Mobile Messenger features a tidy and colorful user interface that is a pleasure to use. The use of tabs helps keep the screen clutter-free and ensures everything is clearly visible.

While eBuddy excels at instant messaging, it falls short compared to other apps like Nimbuzz or fring, which offer VoIP in addition to text chat. Even the inclusion of Skype text chat would have been a nice addition.

If your primary goal is to send instant messages across different IM networks, eBuddy makes it quick and easy to do so.
