About the EAS Library
EAS Library is an arm of EAS and is established as part of the fulfillment of EAS’ mission of fostering scientific culture and innovation and advance the knowledge of the sciences, including indigenous knowledge.
The library is a specialized library, focusing on Ethiopian history, literature, culture, and philosophy and is intended to contribute to nation building and help realizing EAS’ objective of promoting and supporting problem-solving and effective scientific research conducted by Ethiopian scientists. 
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Library of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences is to contribute to and support EAS’ vision of realizing the development of scientific culture and scholarship in Ethiopia.
TYPES OF LIBRARY COLLECTIONS
EAS Library offers a digital repository and physical collections. The physical collections focus on the above mentioned specialized collections and the digital repository provides an online and free access to research outputs by Fellows of the Academy and other scholars.
LIBRARY USERS
The primary users of EAS Library are researchers, Fellows of the Academy, and graduate and undergraduate students. The Library offers reference materials and rare collections to help them meet their academic aspirations and goals.
