Hello!

Firstly, don't be worried! I love podfic, and I love these fandoms, so I'm sure to love any podfic from these fandoms!

Either explicit or non-explicit is great, but I tend not to be kinky? Or rather, the kinks I'm interested in reading are pretty narrowly specific, so I tend not bother looking for them and am just happy if I stumble upon them. THAT SAID, I don't mind reading stories with mild kink (like, some mild bondage, bossiness/obedience, but that's about it?) But that tends to be more when the sex scene/dynamics are the central point of the fic? I don't mind other moderate kinkiness happening in the sidelines, if it's not the main thrust of the fic.

(That said, a few things I really don't enjoy: incest (including raised-as-related-though-not-by-blood incest), unacknowledged power disparity (or where the power disparity is badly acknowledged) combined with other kinks (As in, I don't mind boss/employee, but I don't like, boss/employee with BDSM, if that makes sense? But even then, only mild power disparity, because I don't like, like therapist/patient) and I'm not really into age differences (As in, canon age differences are fine, and AUs that maintain similar differences and don't put one of them underage are also fine, but otherwise, I'm not a fan. And I'm not really into infidelity-as-kink, but it's fine as part of a story, (I don't really read poly fic either) so long as the non-pairing partner isn't villified.

(Mainly, if you want to record something with kink, it's probably best to edge on the side of caution, I think. Though you might be able to check with a a friend of mine? Depends on if you know my friends and which of them specifically, but that might be an option)

THINGS I LIKE: AUs where only one thing has changed, AUs where they're all disaffected Upper-East-Side nannies, everything in between. I am a hardcore sucker for a rag-tag bunch learning to trust each other, and found family dynamics are my jam. I love people brushing up against each other's rough edges quite a bit, and people who get stuck in their own heads too much. Best friend dynamics that turn to romance, best friend dynamics that stay as just friends (i just really love friendship you guys), crossovers, fusions, gen, pairings, self-discovery, self-denial, pining, domesticity, explicit fic, completely sex-less fic... My favourite tropes are Fake Dating, Accidentally Dating, and Secret Relationships, but I love most tropes.

In general, I like happy endings but I don't mind if the characters have to work their way to that ending or if it's all joy and fluff from the outset.

Fandom specific-wise, I theoretically like to think of myself as an open-minded shipper, but in these ones I find myself more OTPish then usual. I'm absolutely fine with either half of the pairing having other romantic/sexual relationships as part of the ploy, so long as at the end, they're together (and monogamous). (Side pairings can be anything and I'm fine)

Just a note on things I don't like:

I love college aus/canon, but don't really like ones that have a huge focus on a character feeling extremely academically overwhelmed, or that focus a lot on them failing/nearly failing classes. Mentions of a particularly hard test or whatever is cool, but fic that's all about how X is doing so terribly and is useless and going to have to leave college etc etc can be borderline triggery for me, so please don't include that. All other aspects of college fic tropes are fine.

I mentioned liking pining fic, and 95% of it is all gravy, but please no self-loathing on the part of the pining partner (things like a bit of 'I'm not good enough for them' are okay, but not long or detailed wallowing in how terrible they are and no one will ever love them) (again, this can boarder on triggery for me) (I am actually okay with never-consummated pining to a certain extent, but not really in the main pairing, if you're reading a pairing fic. Previous pining relationships between now-friends are cool though.)

With regards these two parings, I like almost anything for Jim/Spock, just preferably nothing where their relationship starts before Spock and Uhura break up, and nothing that bashes her or ignores the fact that both Spock and Kirk clearly like and respect her. And I love team bonding and friendship, particularly if Spock and Bones have to have awkward friendship moments. Fics that incorporate TOS canon for character backgrounds is also good (but not required).

For Harry/Draco I primarily only read post-war fic, (I don't like the angst of the war stuff) but that covers everything from 8th year to middle aged. Epilogue compliant and EWE are both cool, so long as Ginny gets to be a real person. I'm fine with basically any and all side/past pairings, with the exception of Draco/Snape (Or any of the trio-aged characters/any professor aged character, Draco/Snape is just one I've seen in a lot of fics). I particularly like fics that start when they're old and jaded and hating each other is just too much effort to keep doing, or ones where they're forced to work together and discover hidden depths and respect for each other.

(My AO3 bookmarks (same name) and pinboard bookmarks (same name again) are all things I've read before and liked, if you're trying to get a feel of what I tend to come back to.)

With regards podfic-types, I am equally enamoured of just voice, voice+music, voice+music+sound effects, some new combination of things that you've just come up with, EVERYTHING. ALL PODFIC IS AWESOME. YAY

Hi! I'm excited, are you excited?

I like to think of myself as a super chill recipient, but then, I'm sure everyone likes to think of themselves like that. I can promise you that I have equal affection for all these fandoms, none of them are secretly lurking as the One Single Thing I desperately want to receive. Whichever fandom you choose to write, I will not be disappointed. (Similarly, none of these fandoms have a single story that I desperately want. I'm going to include rough prompts because I know some writers prefer a little something to work off, so they're there as a suggestion if you want one)

Okay, some general points. The main hard and fast one is that I basically only read happy endings. Doesn't mean there can't be angst and whatever along the way, but when the curtain falls at the end of the night, everyone should have a smile on their face, in a manner of speaking.

I'm not really one for power differentials. I'm okay with some small ones, but nothing major. (Like, TA/Student: okay, Professor/Student: not okay) I'm also not a huge fan of age difference of more then a few years, or where one of the pairing is underage. I don't read a huge amount of kink fic outside of pretty specific contexts, but I'm fine with a little bit? (ie. fic where there's some bondage or spanking or whatever is grand, fic where there's a lot of in-depth BDSM isn't really for me.) I don't read poly or ot3 fic outside of a truely tiny amount of fandoms, none of which I've requested, so also best avoided. No incest (including raised as siblings but not blood related) or deathfic. If possible, no alcoholic parents or deep feelings of self-loathing from POV characters.

I'm good with canon fic or AUs, heavily plot driven fic, reflective character-driven fic. I love big ensembles and friendships, and I'm a particular sucker for a rag-tag bunch slowly growing to trust each other and other/similar found family goodness. I love tropey fic, particularly accidental dating, fake dating, and secret relationships, and pining, so much pining. Any rating from G to NC-17 is fine too! I like crossovers, though they can be a little hit and miss for me, depending on the context. (I tend to prefer ones crossing over characters/fandoms with at least a little canonical similarity in terms of setting/era, rather then say, historical fantasy fandom/future sci-fi fandom, if that makes sense?)

Requests:

Practical Magic (1998)
Sally Owens, Gillian Owens
I would love something about them growing into their identity as witches post film.
They've both struggled with their connection to being witches/their community for big chunks of their life, and the end scene gives a good indication that they've grown to welcome those identities, so I'd love to see something exploring that and how they get from the events of the film to that scene, and beyond. Also something that explores the rest of the town moving from hostility to welcoming them would also be great (all those PTA moms who joined the impromtu coven!), as well as Sally's daughters experience with discovering their own magical ability would be welcome.

Mary Poppins (1964)
Mary Poppins
I would love something about Mary's adventures either pre or post movie
Just swooping in, as she does, turning everything on it's head and then swooping out again. I'd be interested in either something that shows another adventure she has before or after the movie, or maybe something where she comes back to the Banks' years later for an check-in. Bert is also welcome!

Descendants (2015)
Mal (Disney)
I would love something post-movie, with Mal settling in at school and struggling with how much of fitting in is changing herself
I'd be interested in something that shows Mal (and the others) continuing on in school, and struggling with what it means to Not Be Evil. Something that deals with her feeling like she can't really be herself because she'll be judged harder for minor transgressions then the 'good' kids would also be cool. Pairing wise, I'd be down with either Mal/Evie or Mal/Jane, but gen/friendship/found family is also great!

Pride (2014)
Gethin (Pride) Jonathan (Pride) Steph (Pride) Mike (Pride)
I love the found-family vibe of the film, and also the quiet and lived-in relationship between Gethin and Jonathan. (I also like the other characters! These four are just my favourites)
MY BABIES. I really love the way the film is all about gay people having created spaces for themselves and caring for each other and being each other's families and ugh it just hits me in my sappy queer heart. I love Gethin and Jonathan's relationship and that it his it's rough edges but they love each other, and the whole groups' relatinships to each other.

Buzzfeed: The Try Guys
Eugene Lee Yang (Try Guys) Keith Habersberger (Try Guys) Ned Fulmer (Try Guys) Zach Kornfeld (Try Guys)
I mostly ship Eugene/Keith, but could also read any pairing that doesn't involve Ned (because Ned's Wife)
I just love how much fun they're having?? If you want to go totally light-hearted and based on one of their sillier videos that would be cool, but if you wanted to include elements from their more personal videos (or Eugene's email newsletter) that would also be awesome! I'd love to read a story about how they went from being "guys try X" to being "The Try Guys Do X" because they mentioned in their anniversary video it was a little accidental that would be cool, as would basing anything around a real or imagined Try video.

Lastly! I do not know where I will be in December, so I may not be able to read/comment immediatly, but I will do so as soon as I can!

Hello! Do not be afraid, I love yuletide and I love these fandoms, so I am very confident that basically anything you could come up with will thrill me.

I'm going to include rough prompts because I know some writers prefer a little something to work off, but feel free to ignore them as the sea calls you, they're just a suggestion if you want one)

I don't read a huge amount of kink fic outside of pretty specific contexts because it's not really my jam, but I'm fine with a little bit? (ie. fic where there's some mild bondage or spanking or whatever is grand, fic where there's a lot of in-depth BDSM isn't really for me.) I don't read poly or ot3 fic outside of a truely tiny amount of fandoms, none of which I've requested, so also best avoided. No incest (including raised as siblings but not blood related) or deathfic. If possible, no alcoholic parents or deep feelings of self-loathing from POV characters.

Things I do like: almost everything!

I'm good with canon fic or AUs, heavily plot driven fic, reflective character-driven fic. I love big ensembles and friendships, and I'm a particular sucker for a rag-tag bunch slowly growing to trust each other and other/similar found family goodness. I love tropey fic, particularly fake dating and secret relationships, and pining, so much pining. With pairing fic, I particularly love friends-to-lovers. Any rating from G to NC-17 is fine too!

On to fandoms!

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.
Ben, McKinley, Susie
OKAY SO. I have massively shipped Ben/McKinley since I saw the film god knows how long ago, and the first thing I thought when I heard BCoops was confirmed for the show was DOES THIS MEAN WE GET MORE BEN/MCKINLEY and lo: it was so. I legit slid off my couch in a pile of emotions when they finally kissed, because I am a mess of a person. LETS NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT THE YOU DON'T KNOW YOU'RE CREATIVE SCENE BECAUSE I CANNOT TAKE IT. If this has shown you anything, it's that I'll love basically anything involving these two, so knock yourself out. Also they get married when they're like 16 and are still together with a kid 10 years later so just kill me now.

Women's Hockey RPF
Natalie Spooner, Kelly Terry
Look at these Instagram videos and tell me you don't ship it too.

also they sat next to each other in the locker room for the WWC, so

I don't know if they live together or just near each other, but they commute together and are clearly super adorable about it. I would love some classic romcommy tropes with them, if you're looking for a prompt (WINGWOMANING TURNS TO JEALOUSY MAYBE). And jokes about who's college is better (Nat whent to Ohio, Kelly went to Minn) woulcn't be too bad either. Also Natalie came second on the amazing race canada, if that is the kind of fact you are interested it.

Try Guys
Keith Habersberger, Eugene Lee Yang
Okay I know I only requested Keith and Eugene, but that's only because they're the two I ship, all the guys are welcome. Keith is just so enthusiastic all the time, and I love how Eugene seems to always try and be this weird mix of jaded and suprised whenever they're doing something a little out there. (People like this? I can't beleive it, *sigh*, etc) If you want to center fic around an existing video, that would be great, and if you want to make up a try guys challange for the purpose of the fic, that would be GREAT.

Descendents
Mal, Jane, Evie
Ah, cheesy Disney channel movies. The world-building in this film is so half-assed but I love it anyway?? Something that expanded on that would be good, and expecially something that deals with the whole punishing children for the crimes of their parents thing. And like, predetermination! Are the villains' kids bad by birth or does like, years of oppression do that too you. Something that deals with the aftermath of the movie, and the kids trying to further intefrate into mainstream society and how that effects them would be awesome. How do you cope with the pressure to be good when everyone is waiting for you to fuck up and be evil? I mostly ship Mal/Jane, but I'm also up for Mal/Evie (again, please no poly) and I love all the four Isle of the Lost-ers, I just couldn't request all of them due to lack of slots.

If you're looking for ideas of the kind of fic I like, my AO3 and pinboard are both under this same username, and have recs bookmarked. (I know I've bookmarked fic that contradicts some of the things I've said I don't like to read, those are generally rare exceptions to the rules, I still don't generally read whatever it is in the normal course of things. I am large, I contain multitudes, etc etc.)

I have no idea what I'm doing on Christmas day, so there's a chance I won't be able to read/respond immediately, but it won't be because I don't like the fic. Thanks again, and Happy Yuletide!

Fandom specific-wise, I theoretically like to think of myself as an open-minded shipper, but in these ones I find myself more OTPish then usual. I'm really only interested in reading endgame Jack/Phryne or Enjolras/Grantaire. I'm absolutely fine with either half of the pairing having other romantic/sexual relationships as part of the plot, so long as at the end, they're together. (Side pairings can be anything and I'm fine, and even if I mentioned not reading poly fic, I know poly side pairings are pretty common in Les Mis fic, and that's all fine). With Discworld I mostly read fic that includes interesting world-building, but I ship a lot of the canon pairings (Spike/Moist, Carrot/Angua, Sam/Sybil, Polly/Mal, etc) so fic involving them, or that focuses on the various Ankh-Morpork ladies would also be lovely.

Just a note on things I don't like:

I love college aus/canon, but don't really like ones that have a huge focus on a character feeling extremely academically overwhelmed, or that focus a lot on them failing/nearly failing classes. I mentioned liking pining fic, and 95% of it is all gravy, but please no self-loathing on the part of the pining partner (things like a bit of 'I'm not good enough for them' are okay, but not long or detailed wallowing in how terrible they are and no one will ever love them) (again, this can boarder on triggery for me) (I am actually okay with never-consummated pining to a certain extent, but not really in the main pairing, if you're writing a pairing fic. Previous pining relationships between now-friends are cool though.) (And okay I know I requested E/R and self-loathing pining is pretty common in that, but in general I tend to prefer fic where R is more on the 'he doesn't even notice me' side of pining then the 'he hates me in every single way and he's right to, I'm terrible' side of pining. But I get that that's a hard one to know for sure, so I'm a little more okay with it because canon and such. Just preferbaly not fic that has a huge amount of self-hate.)

(My AO3 bookmarks (same name) and pinboard bookmarks (here) are all things I've read before and liked, if you're trying to get a feel of what I tend to come back to.)

I AM SORRY YULETIDE WRITER. I am a terrible person who is only now posting my list and I have my reasons but they are not enough and again I am sorry.

I am a pretty easy recipient! I like almost everything, and dislike few things, which I shall list for you now.

THINGS I LIKE: found families, best friend dynamics that turn to romance, best friend dynamics that stay as just friends (i just really love friendship you guys), canon fic, aus, crossovers, fusions, gen, pairings, self-discovery, self-denial, pining, domesticity, explicit fic, completely sex-less fic, tropes tropes tropes, sports, magic, caramalised onions... okay I've wandered off topic.

But yes, I am easy. So long as there is a happy ending.

THINGS I DO NOT LIKE.

I'm not really into power differentials (I'm okay with like, boss/employee to a certain extent, and professor/college student would also be okay, but more then that probably not, and def not if combined with an age difference).

I'm not particularly into kinky fic, but it's okay in small doses? (Like, I don't really want to read a fic where the two characters BDSM relationship/sex life is the sole point of the story, but if it's an element of a wider plot and not massively explicit, that's okay.) (within that I'm good with stuff like hair pulling and pushy/being pushed sexual dynamics, and tying people up to a certain extent, but not much past that? idk if I'm explaining this well, sorry)

Previous pining relationships between now-friends are cool though, and canon in at least one of my requests)

I don't really read infidelity fic, and read pretty much no poly/open relationship fic. I don't hate them, I'm just not the right audience for them, so no matter how good the fic is, it would be wasted on me.

Aside from that, most of the "usual" things are not for me, no rape/non-con/dubcon, incest (including adopted siblings) abusive relationships, underage (unless both characters are similarly aged). I am probably the 'play it safe' recipient, my apologies.

If you want indications of the kind of stuff I like, my pinboard bookmarks are here and my AO3 has some bookmarked as well, so that might give you a bit of an idea.

I can't wait to read it!!

In general, I tend to like happy endings (or at least optimistically-open endings, because some stories end with reconciliation instead of re-building, but we can trust (hope) the re-building will occur), but I don't mind if the characters have to work their way to that ending or if it's all joy and fluff from the outset.

I hope for the individual fandoms I gave you ideas about the sort of things I like, but if you prefer to have concrete prompts to work from, here are a couple of ideas. (I didn't used to leave actual prompts, but then a couple of my friends said they definitely preferred prompts, so I'm leaving a couple. If you have your own ideas feel free to ignore!)

The Thick of It
Adam Kenyon, Stewart Pearson, Fergus Williams
I'd love a story that shows them when they're 'off the clock' (similar to Ollie and Emma and their domestic fighting) and I ship Adam/Fergus like crazy but gen fic would be totally fine as well! If you want an actual story prompt, then maybe something with Stewart finding out they're in a relationship and them all arguing about if it's worse for Fergus to have hired his boyfriend as an advisor or to have started sleeping with his subordinate.

Literary Trysts It Gives Me Great Joy To Think About RPF
Walt Whitman, Oscar Wilde
Everything about this is in the original post on the toast, so I'm not sure what else to add.

Frances Ha
Frances Halladay Sophie Levee
FRIENDSHIP FIC. I'd love a fic from either their early days, about how they became friends in the first place, about them moving to NYC (if that came afterwards), or in the future, where they hopefully make it back to each other again.

>Discworld - Terry Pratchett
Adora Belle Dearheart, Polly "Ozzer" Perks Maladict, Angua von Uberwald
LADIES OF THE DISC. Like I said in my sign-up, I really love the way all these ladies deal with gender roles, so I'd love a story with those themes. Something that involves Polly and Maladict ending up in Ankh-Morpork would be wonderfun, but the other ladies travelling out to Borogravia would also be great. And I'm a huge fan of pretty much all the Discworld women, particularly in the Watch, so don't feel you have to be limited to the ones I nominated.

If you want to read my previous letters, they're all linked through this tag, and my pinboard and ao3 bookmarks (both with the same username) have a good indication of the kind of stories I like, even if they're in fandoms I no longer read.

Can't wait to read it!

THAT SAID, I don't mind reading stories with mild kink (like, some mild bondage, a little bit of bossiness/obedience, but that's about it?) But that tends to be more when the sex scene/dynamics are the central point of the fic? I don't mind other moderate kinkiness happening in the sidelines, if it's not the main thrust of the fic.

(That said, a few things I really don't enjoy: incest (including raised-as-related-though-not-by-blood incest), unacknowledged power disparity (or where the power disparity is badly acknowledged) combined with other kinks (As in, I don't mind boss/employee, but I don't like, boss/employee with BDSM, if that makes sense? But even then, only mild power disparity, because I don't like, like therapist/patient) and I'm not really into age differences (As in, canon age differences are fine for the pairings I list, and AUs that maintain similar differences and don't put one of them underage are also fine, but otherwise, I'm not a fan. And I'm not really into infidelity-as-kink, but it's fine as part of a story, (though I don't really read poly fic either) so long as the non-pairing partner isn't villified.

(Mainly, if you want to record something with kink, it's probably best to edge on the side of caution, I think. Though you might be able to check with a friend of mine if it's borderline? Depends on if you know my friends and if they'd know a huge amount about my tastes, but that's might be an option)

As far as non-kinky things though, I am pretty much as open as you like. I love canon fic, I love pre-canon, post-canon, during-canon, I love tiny AUs where only one thing has changed, and I love AUs where they're all disaffected Upper-East-Side nannies, and everything in between.

In general, I tend to like happy endings (or at least optimistically-open endings, because some stories end with reconciliation instead of re-building, but we can trust (hope) the re-building will occur), but I don't mind if the characters have to work their way to that ending or if it's all joy and fluff from the outset.

For specific fandoms:

Hockey RPF
M main teams for fic purposes are the Pens, the Oilers, and the Canes. For the first two I generally ship Sid/Geno, Nealer/Paulie, and Hallsy/Ebs, though I'm pretty open to other minor pairings, and for the Canes I totally ship Eric with Cam, Jeff, or Sasha. I'm up for pretty much anything with those pairings, and the only think I'd say is that with fic about Sid, I tend not to read fic where he's super robotic/overly terrible at human interaction.

History Boys
I mostly read movie!verse, but I do like play!verse as well. My favourite stories for this fandom are mostly future!fic, at college or further past that, and I generally ship Dakin/Irwin and Posner/Scripps, though I'd probably be up for reading fic about any of the boys, whether in a pairing or gen.

Discworld
I said Gen just because I'm generally not that into pairing-focused fic for this fandom, though I do love a lot of the canon pairings (like Vimes/Sybil, Moist/Spike, Angua/Carrot). I tend mostly to read stuff that deals with social/cultural politics on the disk, or like fun plotty shenanigans more then romance. So fic with pairings are fine, just generally not fic about pairings?

THESE ARE ALL JUST GUIDELINES THOUGH. I tend to love most things. My yuletide letters are all here if you're looking for any more ideas about the kind of fic I like. (And my AO3 bookmarks and pinboard bookmarks (both the same name) are all things I've read before and liked, if you're trying to get a feel of what I tend to come back to)

With regards podfic-types, I am equally enamoured of just voice, voice+music, voice+music+sound effects, some new combination of things that you've just come up with, EVERYTHING. ALL PODFIC IS AWESOME. YAY

Anyway! CAN'T WAIT.

THANKS

Yuletide reveals are up! I think this was my seventh yuletide, which is just nuts, frankly.

So I wrote:

A Very Fox-y Christmas, which is an ultra-fluffy Ben & Kate genfic about Ben getting injured on Christmas morning, and he and Tommy trying desperately to avoid Kate finding out so it won't ruin Christmas.

and then [personal profile] cthonical's request came up on the pinch-hit list, and I found myself inundated with feelings, and wrote the first cut is the deepest, which is a pretty angsty Smith fic about Tom and Jeff (AKA Sherlock Holmes and Patrick Jane) and their relationship from before the series through to after it.

I'm slowly working my way through my giant bag of yarn, so I thought I'd repost this for people who missed it the first time around.

If you want a Christmas card + tiny yarn thing, then leave your address on this post, or on the original post (Both are screened).

And Irish post is really cheap, so don't abstain just because you think it'd be too expensive to send you a card! CARDS FOR EVERYONE!

Dudes! I know it's still only November, but I totally failed at cards last year, so I'm trying to get the jump on it.

That, and I inherited a big bag of yarn ends from a friend when they moved, and now I have ALL THE COLOURS but not enough to make anything substantial.

SO. If you would like a Christmas card and/or small yarn ornament, leave your address!

You can post it here (comments are screened), or if you prefer, PM here, or DM me on twitter.

DON'T LET ME DOWN GUYS. I am excited.

Dear yuletide writer. [Oct. 16th, 2012|03:47 pm]

Hey!

Firstly, I'm super-enthusiastic about all of these choices. I tend not to plan my yuletide out in a hardcore manner, so rest assured that I equally want all of these, I don't secretly have my heart set on one particular fandom, or on one particular story in any of them. ANYTHING YOU WRITE WILL BE WONDERFUL.

In terms of generalities, my fandoms for this year kind of fit into either workplace comedies or found-family stories, so those are obviously dynamics I enjoy. I like happy endings (or at least open-but-optimistic endings). In terms of types of fic, I love canon fic, AU fic, crossover fic, gen, pairings, etc (I'll mention specific pairings I read in the fandom parts), and I'm pretty vanilla when it comes to smut (though most of my fandoms this year are more gen-focused)

In terms of specific fandoms, this isn't just a list of what I want to read; it's also a list of the things I love about the canon

The Thick of It:
Like I said, those are my four favourite characters, but I'm a huge fan of everyone in seasons 3&4, so feel free to throw in as many of the other cast members as you want from those years (or equally to leave them out) Right now (just after 4.05), my favourite thing in the series is the sense that Malcolm is kind of loosing the run of things - that he's a man who's so used to setting fires to distract from other fires, but that only works if he knows the fire's going to go out. Also, Ollie and his journey to the top of the mountain he thought he wanted to climb, but now he's stared into the abyss and started to realise that he's probably made a huge mistake. And I love Nicola and Peter as fundamentally decent people who are caught up in the angry tension of politics, and that Peter's weariness and Nicola's flailing are mostly a reaction to the fact that politics is putting them in a worse place then they really expected to be. (The only thing I really ship in TTOI is Malcolm/Jamie and he's not nominated, or Adam/Fergus, but again, not nominated, so not to worry)
ETA post-series: OH OLLIE YOU BASTARD

Zombieland
Found families! I just love all these characters, their interactions with each other individually and in groups, all that stuff. So post-canon fic where we see them moving through Zombieland and how they keep surviving, or pre-canon fic where we see how the four of them got to where they are. Or like, AUs where everything's different! I DON'T CARE I JUST LOVE THEM ALL. (I totally ship Columbus/Wichita, but I'm totally happy with just gen team!fic)

Happy Endings
EVEN MORE FOUND FAMILIES. Happy Endings is my "I just want to hang around with these people ALL THE TIME" show, so again, while the four nominated are my favourites, I'm a huge fan of all the ensemble, and all the guest characters. I love the intense friendship they all have, and the fast wordplay, and the notion that they're all just slightly too weird for the outside world which might suggest why they only end up in relationships with each other and all others are bound to failure. If you want to write pre-canon fic about how they came to know each other in college that would be awesome, but if you just want to write gen intra-canon fic about a wacky adventure EQUALLY AWESOME. (Ships in this fandom are Jane/Brad BECAUSE HOW CAN YOU NOT and Max/Grant, but again, gen is super-fine as well)

Clowns - Dead Cat Bounce (Play)
I KNOW THIS IS A LONG SHOT. I'm not expecting anyone to have ever heard of this, let alone seen it and want to write fic for this, so this is probably me throwing a slot away on something silly BUT WHAT IS YULETIDE FOR? Just on the off-chance there's someone else out there who wants to write it but doesn't think anyone will read it, I figured I'd give it a go. Whilst I love it because it's hilarious, I think my favourite thing about it was the little discussions of clowning as a profession, the way things are organised and the different schools of thought, all of that. So whilst I do kind of ship Bozo/Bobo in a requited or unrequited kind of way, I would be super happy with just team!fic, as they plan their shows and try not to cry, or origin fic for how the troupe first got together.

If you want to read other DYW letters I've written, they're all linked through the tag, and here's a letter for a different exchange if that helps as well.

But like I said, I'M POSITIVE ANYTHING WILL BE WONDERFUL. HAVE FUN

Thanks!

HAS ANYONE SEEN TUFF TURF?

EXAMPLE:

Like seriously. I desperately need someone else to A) confirm that this movie exists. But also B) TELL ME HOW IT ENDS.

My copy is corrupted, so the finale is missing. (IF YOU WANT TO SEE EVEN THE CORRUPTED COPY LET ME KNOW)

Basically, James Spader moves to town, and bb!RDJ falls instantly in love and wants to be awesome super friends. There's probably some other plot in there somewhere, but I wasn't paying attention. (Also he plays drums for Jim Carroll. Yes, the Jim Carroll that Leo played in Basketball Diares.)

Like seriously.

Fic - Return to Oz for inception_bang [Feb. 13th, 2012|10:34 pm]
duckgirlie
[Tags|, ]

Title: Return to Oz
Author: duckgirlie
Artist: cerulean_sky
Type: Gen/Slash
Word Count:~21,000
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Arthur/Eames (ish), ensemble, original characters.
Warnings Moderate swearing.
Summary:After a chance meeting at an art gala, Robert Fischer starts to dream of things that seem slightly too real to be forgotten. He dreams of rain, and snow, and gunshots, and it's keeping him up at night. But then he meets a woman who tells him that she can fix his dreams for him, if only he trusts her.

Meanwhile, the team from the Fischer job are scattered back across the world, continuing with life as best they can when you've already achieved the impossible. But there's no such thing as 'done and dusted' when you're stealing from the most powerful people in the world, and sometimes retirement doesn't keep you safe for very long.

Cobb wants to protect his new-found freedom, Arthur wants to protect Cobb from any more stupid risks. Ariadne wants a different perspective on dreaming, Saito wants to protect his investment, Eames just wants to put this whole fucking thing to bed at last. And Robert? Robert just wants to know the truth.

A Matter of Diminishing Convenience - For johanirae [Dec. 19th, 2011|06:39 pm]

[Tags|, ]

For: johanirae in dream_holiday
Title: A Matter of Diminishing Convenience.
Pairing: Arthur/Eames
Rating: PGish (just swearing.)
Warnings: None
Summary: They got married on a Wednesday. Except not really. And that's not even the beginning, just one of them. Maybe even the least interesting one.
Author's Notes: This story totally zigged where it should have zagged, and ended up somewhere quite different then expected. Hope you like it though! Also, I'm not a lawyer, so take legal things in the spirit in which they were intended, ie. narratively. And thanks to capt_spork for a very fast last minute beta.

Sometimes, you just have to say yes to even the most ridiculous suggestions.Collapse )
