Elevate your content creation: Discover DJI Mimo app’s new features

DJI has unveiled a significant update to its DJI Mimo app, version 2.2.1, introducing enhanced features and support for the newly launched Osmo Mobile 7P and Osmo Mobile 7 gimbals. This update aims to elevate the user experience, offering advanced tools for both amateur and professional content creators.

Enhanced tracking with Smart Capture

A standout feature in this update is Smart Capture, designed to streamline subject tracking during filming. In scenarios involving multiple subjects, the app now displays several focus areas, allowing users to tap on a specific area to activate ActiveTrack. Tapping again enables seamless switching between subjects, ensuring precise and dynamic focus adjustments.

  • Seasonal filters: Spring Pro, Summer Pro, Autumn Pro, and Winter Pro, compatible with Osmo Pocket 3, infuse videos with the distinct ambiance of each season.
  • Botanical filters: Mei Pro, Lan Pro, Zhu Pro, and Ju Pro, designed for Osmo Action 5 Pro, offer elegant color palettes inspired by four popular plants.

Support for Osmo Mobile 7 series

The Osmo Mobile 7 series, comprising the Osmo Mobile 7P and Osmo Mobile 7, represents DJI’s latest innovation in mobile gimbals.

  • Osmo Mobile 7P: This premium model features a robust three-axis stabilizer, ensuring smooth footage even during dynamic movements. It includes a Multifunctional Module with integrated control light, adjustable color temperature, and brightness settings. The module also functions as a receiver for high-quality audio transmission when connected via USB-C, providing additional power to the device. Weighing approximately 300 grams, the Osmo Mobile 7P is lightweight and portable, making it ideal for on-the-go filming. Additional features include a side wheel for cinematic control, Apple Watch compatibility, and a battery life of up to 10 hours. Priced at $149, it offers a comprehensive solution for content creators.
  • Osmo Mobile 7: Designed as a more budget-friendly option, this model maintains essential functionalities such as the three-axis stabilizer and ActiveTrack 7.0 technology. While it lacks the Multifunctional Module and side wheel, it remains a versatile tool for capturing professional-quality footage. The Osmo Mobile 7 is available at $89, catering to those seeking quality stabilization without additional features.

Both gimbals are fully compatible with the updated DJI Mimo app, allowing users to maximize the potential of features like Smart Capture and Pro Color Grading. This integration ensures a cohesive and user-friendly experience, enabling creators to produce high-quality content with ease.

With the combination of DJI Mimo’s latest update and the Osmo Mobile 7 series, content creators are equipped with advanced tools to enhance their storytelling. Whether you’re capturing dynamic action shots or crafting cinematic sequences, these innovations provide the flexibility and control needed to produce professional-grade videos.
