Current Research

I am currently writing a poetry collection inspired by the women of Beowulf (more on both of these topics in the tabs above), a creative-critical monograph on Margery Kempe and medievalism, and a trade book on Daphne du Maurier.

I have an article on Hoccleve’s Complaynt Paramount under consideration at present. (This research arose from a talk that I blogged about here and my translation of the poem here).

I am contributing an essay to a new volume on sacred space edited by Kate Weikert and Gustav Zamore. My essay is entitled ‘The Case of the Green Chapel: Disrupting and Transforming Sacred Space in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight’ (submitted to the editors in March 2025).

I have also been invited to contribute three essays to forthcoming collections (one of which, on Margery Kempe and angels, was submitted in 2023).
