So, for those who didn't get the news from
dw-discuss -
Dreamwidth is in closed beta!Since it's closed beta, it's not open to everybody just yet, but you can still go there and explore some pages. (OpenID logins work, too, and D's said that it's okay for people to login with OpenID if you want to comment on posts and such.)
Bear in mind that closed beta is obviously still some way away from the full thing, so expect the place to be buggy here and there. There are no system styles yet (they're being cleaned up right now), so most journals you'll find will have a very simple bare-bones look. This isn't how things will look in the final thing, though, obviously. :D (Some accounts will have styles anyway; those people used S2 to copy over styles from LiveJournal itself temporarily until the proper styles are imported into the site, as the core style does make things a little hard to read.)
Now comes the process of banging on things. Closed beta is probably going to be 4-6 weeks or so, so it's a good time to remind everybody that when open beta begins, there will be a sale of Seed Accounts. (DW's name for accounts that permanently have Premium Paid features and don't have to pay any longer.) As a reminder, these will be US$200 each, and there will be 400 of these being sold. With any luck, it'll take place in 1-2 months.
MONTHS. Guys, this is incredible. All I can say to this whole thing is: OMG.
We're really doing this.
