Genie Timeline is a program to backup and restore your files. It comes in three editions: Free, Home and Professional. The free edition of the program, we are talking about, has limited options but in no way worse than the two other editions. It is a great and easy to use program for home users.
The Genie Timeline’s interface is very attractive and intuitive; it offers a setup wizard to simplify your task. You will be guided on the easy steps of the process. All you will need to do is choose the drive or folder you want to back up your data to, and then specify the data you want to back up. When selecting the data to back up you will be offered either to back up the pre-selected data from your user account and local drives (E-mail, Desktop, My Documents, Office files, Pictures, Music, Bookmarks, etc.), or to specify the data from your local drives manually, or even to choose one from the Windows Explorer. And, that is all. The rest is done automatically. The program will verify your backup selections, it will state the size of the data you want to back up, the number of items and the free space on the selected drive; and if everything is OK, it will back up your data. Otherwise, it will warn you if, for example, the size of the data to backup is larger than the size of the backup drive’s free space, or if there is any other conflict. Then you will need to confirm the backup configuration by clicking on the finish button, and the backup process will start. more
