for FFF Friday prompt: careless whisper
dpracket
The visiting construction supervisor went over plans and logistics at the front of the boardroom, displaying blueprints and artists' renditions of the future neurology wing at Memorial hospital.  Luke sat in front of Reid, at the back corner of the table where they always sat.  Reid tapped his thumb silently as he listened to the speaker.  After awhile he lost interest in what he was saying.  His eyes drifted to Luke, of course.  He noticed him fiddling with his phone underneath the table, trying to look inconspicuous.  He might have been returning a work email, but more likely, he was coming up with an impressive move in Words with Friends.  Luke may not be able to beat him in a game of chess, but he repeatedly kicked his ass, and everyone else's,  in the Scrabble-like online game.  A small smile came to Reid's lips.   He focused on Luke's hair and the back of his neck and thought about their date over the weekend.  It had been great...dinner and a movie, followed by a moonlit walk by the river, flirting, laughing, holding hands, and a lot of other sappy-ass shit that Reid couldn't believe he enjoyed the hell out of.  It had ended with some heavy making out and groping on Luke's mother's couch, which Reid is embarrassed to admit almost ended up with him coming in his pants like a horny teenager.  He liked to tease Luke about it, but the truth was this waiting thing wasn't so bad, and it was actually kind of hot, and Luke and his "encouragement" had him walking on air most days lately, shaking his head at his stupid, love-struck self.  Like right now, sitting there grinning at the back of Luke's head.

Reid pulled his chair up, closer to Luke.  He leaned forward and put his hand over Luke's texting fingers under the table.  He then leaned foward and whispered something low and dirty in Luke's ear, causing Luke to let out a quiet chuckle and his ears and cheeks to instantly turn red.  Luke turned toward him, their heads close together, and smiled that smile that Reid loved.  Loved.  He squeezed Luke's thigh under the table before sitting back, a small grin on his face.  He couldn't wait to get out of the meeting and go have lunch with Luke in his office.  They might even eat.  He looked up to find Bob staring at him with that fatherly "get your attention back where it needs to be" look on his face.  Bob had recently reprimanded them gently about their PDA at work and asked them to tone it down a bit, so maybe it wasn't a good idea to be whispering not-so-sweet nothings in Luke's ear at the boardroom table.  Reid licked his lips, smiled slightly, and mouthed the word "Sorry" in Bob's direction.  Bob fought a smile and nodded, returning his attention to the front of the room.
