French 3rd Hussars - Napoleonic Wars - Perry Miniatures (FN140)

Hello everyone!

It has been quite a while and I actually have a few things I've completely forgotten to post here, both Horus Heresy and Black Powder related.

But let's just start with the most recent thing I've been working on. These are the 1st Company of the French 3rd Hussars, they form the first half of the 1st Squadron of the regiment. I still need to paint the remaining 7 miniatures, but I need a little break from painting horses as I don't particularly enjoy that part :-p

These are a Perry Miniatures plastic kit and they are absolutely lovely to both build and paint. The flag is from Flags of War which is where we are currently getting all our flags so far in the project.

The plan now is to finish the Heresy project I've been working on, and if you've been following along on Instagram you already know I'm working on the "new'ish" Horus Ascended model and it's actually fairly close to being finished, not a lot left to paint but all of it just takes a long time.

I think that's it for today, will try to post some Heresy tomorrow if I remember (no promises).

Until then
Chris

Napoleonic French Line Infantry - Painting Guide

Hello everyone

If you follow me on Instagram (@DornsArrow) you'll probably have noticed I've been painting a lot of Napoleonic models recently. Me and a couple of mates have been slowly working on this project together because we've talked about doing some historicals together for years.

I'm primarily working on the French and they work on the British and because of this, a few people have asked how I go about painting my French infantry. So I decided to make a quick tutorial showing it. You can find it right here and as usual, it's completely free of charge.

I'll probably showcase more of our combined work at some later point, but here are a few of the units I've done using the basic process described in the guide.

Until next time.

Solaire of Astora - Pegaso Models - English Knight XIV c. (54-074)

"The sun is a wondrous body. Like a magnificent father!
If only I could be so grossly incandescent!"

Hello everyone

I got this model as a birthday gift from my little brother a year or 2 ago and finally got around to actually paint it. I had originally planned to paint it in a more historically accurate theme, but this just seemed a lot more fun! :-D

So instead of painting it as the English Knight, it was meant to be, I decided to paint him as jolly sun searching Knight Solaire from the video game Dark Souls.

I had never previously painted anything in this scale (54mm) so it was a very fun little exercise and I'm very happy with the end result.

Next up is a single Horus Heresy character which will be the start of my new army #newYearNewLegion and afterwards I will finish painting another Primarch figure for a friend of mine.

So until next time

General Maximus Decimus Meridius - Young Miniatures

'Allo 'Allo

Recently I tried my hands at painting my first bust ever and it was a great and challenging experience. It's 1/10 scale which is a scale I've never worked with before, so it just added to the challenge.

It took me a couple of weekends to complete (WIP photos can be found on my Instagram) and I think it turned out quite alright, atleast I'm happy with it :p

Here's a few more pictures. enjoy.
