Groups hierarchy<\/h2>\n

\"create-advanced-group\"To restrict access to your posts or pages based on capability inheritance:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Create the desired Group <\/strong>(child group)<\/li>\n
  2. Assign the child group its corresponding capability or capabilities<\/li>\n
  3. Select the Parent<\/strong> Group<\/li>\n
  4. The subgroup<\/a>\u00a0inherits the capabilities of its\u00a0parent group.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Let’s assume\u00a0Basic<\/em>\u00a0is the\u00a0Parent Group<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Advanced<\/em>\u00a0the\u00a0Child Group<\/strong>,\u00a0a\u00a0subgroup.<\/p>\n

    In this\u00a0example, there’re two groups: Basic<\/em> (with the basic<\/em> capability) and Advanced<\/em> (which has the advanced<\/em> capability assigned and inherits the basic<\/em> capability from its parent).<\/p>\n

    As groups inherit the capabilities of their parent groups, the Advanced<\/em> group inherits the capabilities of the\u00a0Basic<\/em> group.<\/p>\n

    In the below example, Abraham\u00a0belongs to the Advanced <\/em>group and through his membership has permission to access pages protected with the\u00a0advanced<\/em> capability.<\/p>\n

    As the Advanced<\/em> group is a subgroup of Basic<\/em>, Abraham can also access pages protected with the\u00a0basic<\/em> capability.<\/p>\n
