Theme Installation
Via AF themes Site
- Download Darknews Pro via, https://afthemes.com/products/darknews-pro/
- Go to your WordPress website dashboard
- Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload and select the Zip file you recently downloaded.
- Click on Install and Activate it.
FTP Installation
- Use your FTP software to browse to the wp-content/themes folder.
- Extract darknews-pro.zip and upload the folder.
- Once it’s uploaded, go to your WordPress Admin, and browse to Appearance > Themes.
- Click the Activate link.
Activating Theme Darknews Pro
- Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > ChromeNews Pro
- Click on Activate

All the above-listed plugins are recommended on the WordPress dashboard after activating the theme. You can simply install them from there.
Darknews Pro Homepage
Darknews Pro Theme offers Two different Homepage Options
- Your Latest Posts
- A Static Page
1. Your Latest Posts
The theme Default mode is Your Latest Posts where Admin posts are displayed in 2 Column Grid Layout which the admin could customize from the steps below:
Appearance > Customizer > Theme Option > Archive Setting
where, the admin could change the Layouts, Content View, and Pagination

2. Create a Page for Home and Blog( Static Front Page )
At first, you need to create two pages, one for Home Page and another for the Blog page.
- Go to admin panel > Pages > Add New
- Give the title of the page (Example: Home Page)
- Click on Publish to publish the page.
- Create another page (for the Blog)
- Go to admin panel > Settings > Reading
- Click on “A static page (select below)”
- Set Front page: (Home Page recently created above)
- Posts page:(Blog you recently created)
- After that admin could add the widgets to the widgets section of the frontpage provided by the Theme
Or,
- Go to the Appearance then Click on the Customizer
- Click on the Homepage Setting Option
- Select A Static Page
- Create A Homepage and A Post Page
- Then, You could go to the Widgets section of the customizer where you could add the widgets at the Frontpage Area
You can always use the support forum in case you faced any problems while installing the theme.
How to add Pages?
It is easy to add a post and page in WordPress.
- Go to Admin Panel
- Go to Pages > Add New
- Give the Title of the Page
- Write the Content of the Page
- Scroll down and see the right corner, you will find the Set Featured Image section
Darknews Pro Single Post
All Post could be customized either Individually or Globally from the Theme Customizer Option
Individual: Dashboard > Posts> Edit Post > Admin could get an option of editing the Content Layout and Alignment
Globally: Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer > Theme Option > Single Post (Image position for feature image with disabling option is provided for better display and the content layout can be changed.)
Note: If you are not familiar with the new WordPress editor Gutenberg, you can easily disable it and enable the classic editor.
How to Import Dummy Data?
Importing the demo data is easy in Darknews News and Magazine Responsive WordPress theme.
- Download AF Companion Plugin recommend by the theme
- After installing the plugin, Click Activate button
- Open AF Companion which appears in your Dashboard.
- Then, Click on the Import Option of the Demo
Note: If your website has genuine content already, it is not recommended to import the dummy data. Make sure, you are building a new website from scratch before importing the dummy data.
A Trip to Customizer
Well, Darknews is fully developed based on a customizer. So, you need to check all the options available inside the customizer meticulously.

3. Menu
You could follow the below steps to add a menu:
Step 1: Go to the customizer option of the Appearance
Step 2: Click on the menu and create a menu and select the option below the menu
Step 3: Then click on Add item and add a custom link, page categories you want
4. Header Option
- Header Setting: Where the admin could change the header layout, top header, and watch online button
- Header Layout: 3 different layouts Side, Center, and Compressed could be selected
- Site Mode: The site mode button present in the menu section enable and disable the option
- Top Header Section: Turning on to display Dates and Social Menu with enabling the Top header options are provided.
- Menu Section: Watch Online Text and Icon with the link could be changed and the option of enabling the border below the menu option is available.
- Header Layout: 3 different layouts Side, Center, and Compressed could be selected
- Header Advertisement: Adding the advertisement image could be done with Url Link on the image and display out option is given
- Header Image: Header images can be placed with the control of image overlay transparency and size also with random header images
5. Main Banner Option
Customization of the Main banner along with Popular news and Breaking news is present here.
Banner Background: A background image can be added only for the Main Banner section
Banner Layouts: There are 9 different layouts each containing 4 different color modes with width and boxed layout option.
Popular Tags: Latest or Popular tags can be set above the Main Banner section
Ticker News: Numbers of posts can be shown based on the category above the Main Banner section
6. Frontpage Option
Options for the below section are available
Frontpage Layout: Frontpage alignment could be changed through the setting
Featured Post: Grid Post showed below the Main Banner Post number could be customized
Youtube Video: 5 Youtube videos could be added to this section
Express Post List: The grid and list designs of the combo widget will help you stylishly present your articles.
Post List: 3 Column list could be shown in the section
Post Carousel: The carousel, which comes with a variety of choices, will assist you in looping the blog content.

All widgets could be added in a different section of the

8. Theme Option

Font & Typography
Font Family with Font size of Post Title, Section Title, General, and others can be changed
Site Layout Mode
Boxed and Wide layouts can be set
Global Setting
Global Alignment, Widget Title Style, Scroll to Top Position, and Comment Count options are present here
Single Post
Image position for feature image with disabling option is provided for better display. Also, the content layout can be changed
Archive Setting
List, Grid, Full, and Masonry with individual alignment options can be chosen for archive pages
Sidebar Setting
Image position for feature image with disabling option is provided for better display. Also, the content layout can be changed
Breadcrumb Option
4 different layouts could be changed using plugins
Categories Option
Categories display option could be customized
View Count Option
View could enable the option with counting style could be managed
Author & Date Setting
The admin can select either to view the date or author name in the post in a different section with more numbers of date format
Minute Read Count
The minute count option could be customized
Excerpt Setting
Global excerpt length with Read More text could be changed
