I baked cookies!
Chocolate chip and butterscotch cookies to be precise.
And people actually liked them!
Maybe this cooking thing isn't so hard after all.

In other news, still no word on the new job.
I have made the decision that I need to make a move for this to happen.

My plan is to drive up on the 20th.

Big changes, here I come.

I just got out of an impromptu meeting with my boss.
Things are not good. We got screwed hard on an order that should have kept us in the green for the next 3 years after spending 8 months bending over backwards for the customer, including moving to a new building, hiring new people, and getting new office furniture so we don't look podunk.

He's been aware of my desire to move to MA for some time now, I was very up front about it.
He's just told me to start looking for a new job in MA again (as I haven't spent any time looking since april) he even gave me the ok to start browsing job sites here at work.

This is worrying.

I need help from you guys. Anyone know any good job recruiters or headhunters in MA?
I'm a motion control programmer with assembly and management experience.
Suggestions for companies to hit up for a job also welcome.

Long overdue update

My resume. Finally.

I still don't have a cover letter, but at this point I just need to start looking and get to the letter later if I think I need it.
I need all the help I can get, so anyone you know that might want someone like me, or any comments on changes to the resume, go ahead.
Comment here if you want me to send you a copy. (comments are screened)

Once I find a job it'll only be a matter finding a place to live and I'll be in MA. Hooray!

Normally I hate these things. They are always forgotten by Feb. But here I am making them again and again.

1. Cut soda down to 1 a month (seasonal parties excepted by try to stick to water)
2. Work out more, I've really fallen off the wagon on this one despite having lost weight.
3. Stop obsessing over past mistakes. (Its beginning to affect my physical health)
4. Stop obsessing over other things I can't change (like how someone feels about me, no I'm not talking about who you think I am)
5. Lose 20lbs
6. Move to MA (by valentine's day hopefully)
7. Take a class (looking at CNC machine programming as its career oriented and likely to make me a lot more money)
8. Learn when to keep my mouth shut
9. Cross off at least 3 more things on my list.
10. Add 6 more things to my list.

I've grown a lot this past year. I'd like to think the net effect was positive but it was painful. I'm hoping this next year will be as good for me as the last. As my friend John said to me: "Pain is inevitable; Suffering is optional".

Time to stop wallowing in self-pity and get some stuff done. Life's a-wasting.
