It wasn't even noon, and I ran out of patience for work for the week.

Oddly a large section of my last post was replaced with a link to a random LJ user's blog. There is no reason for this in either the text or html version of the page that I could see. I have made an adjustment and the rest of the text should now be visible as normal.

Anyone else having such problems?

My evening was made of awesome with a side of awesome sauce.
I've never been this excited / anxious about wanting something to go right my whole life.

I'm planning a trip to the PA Rennfaire.
I'm looking at going the weekend 9/26, driving down friday night and back on sunday.

DVD came out a few days ago. WANT!

Traveling the wilderness of Barsaive even when you know where you're going can be hazardous.
Last session the caravan stopped by a small lake to take on fresh water and allow people to bathe.
While doing so several people were dragged underwater by Bog Gobs (aka mud men) who attempted to drown them.
A fight ensued in which at least two party members (Zartok and Tice) fought in the buff.
No one died but a few people were a bit worse for wear.
Several incidents have convinced Ezrabar the younger that there is someone trying to sabotage the mission. Wet flour, a broken lynch pin on a wagon wheel etc. He suspects Colin the adjunct to the magistrate, logistics manager and the only other adept in the caravan.

This session, Colin the adjunct approached Ezrabar about some of the supply problems. He suspects there is a problem and want the adventurers to extend their security work inward to find the problem.
Tice notices some tempers are flaring as rumors spread over a game of Go, which he later tries to teach to the Zartok.
In the midst of this all Pax discovers that Colin is a questor (cleric to most of you, god unknown at this time) and when he confronts him about it, is paid to keep his mouth shut... not with gold, but with treats for his mount. Pax promptly, over objections from his mount Tibby, has the treats tested for poison.

Zartok  wanders into the trees while on watch and is promptly stung by shadowmants, a venomous flying predator, and nearly succumbs to the poison. Ezrabar on watch against sabotage does little to help.

Pax flies off the following morning following the caravan hunter, who arrives at a small village a days travel away just a few hours ahead of the caravan. Ezrabar breaks into the magistrates wagon looking for incriminating evidence, finds nothing and then goes and tells the magistrate his security mesures suck and he should be more careful.

The caravan arrives at Greenfield a small farming community that has been having trouble with raiders. Zartok is not able to sufficently convince them that he is not horror marked and must spend time outside the village with several others from the caravan that were similarly unable to pass inspection.

Jed on the other hand sung a wonderful southern dirge like song (the player actually sang a song made up for the occasion)
Dirk's immediate response "It's filk. You're obviously marked."

etherial  and I are going to ten cent taco night at Jose Murphy's.

They were preparing for a trip into the wilds of Barsaive escorting a group diplomats.
Ezrabar the younger in an attempt to make more money out of the pay advance the party was given set up a  50/50 raffle and ended up making a reasonable profit for a nights work.
Just a day out of Throal they were stopped by an ambush of bandits, who were perfectly willing to let the group through for a small monetary donation.
Perlach Wintersky stepped forth to negotiate with them and unthinkingly called out with the traditional trollish greeting (Yad Ho). Something he had previously told Zartok (the troll warrior) was the signal to initiate combat.
Zartok tore into the highwaymen with fury and gusto shredding anyone that stood before him into a bloody mess.
Mahari (windling elementalist) took to the fight blade flashing and psyching up Pax who despite his small size acted like a true terror in combat.
Tice took this opportunity to reaffirm his belief that Barsaive is a lawless waste in need of order.

Truly it seems a party of misfits -
A windling who is both touchy and grounded
An honest and generous thief that refuses to hold on to the rest of the partys money
A troll that doesn't know how to be a troll
A troubador that forgot the power of words
A spell caster that has yet to cast a spell
A weaponsmith that'd rather grow plants
and an elf old enough to be father to great great grandfather to most of them

It's not quite Troll's Misfits of Greyhawk, but its fun to see people bucking the sterotypes.

The opening game of my newest Earthdawn game aired tonight.
Things went much slower than I expected owing to a late start and people dodging the obvious "I'm getting you all together" plot hook.

Our current party:
dirkcjelli -  Thijis'berg'is a nearly aincient nethermantic elf. Man of few words and a mysterious past.
shogunhb - Ezrabar the younger is a eager young man off to follow in his father's footsteps
etherial - Perlach Wintersky, troll troubadour whose tounge is a silver as his feet are clumsy
Sean E. - Jedath Maker, obsidiman weaponsmith of considerable talent but no practical experience
Jansen S. - Pax, windling calvaryman, victim of a terrible accident now relies on his trusty mount Tiberius to bear him into the sky.
getoffended - troll warrior
princess_muffin - windling elementalist

Our party has recently joined the ranks of His Majesty's Exploratory Force, effectively as Ezrabar puts it "a temp agency for adventurers".
Their current mission is to escort a group diplomats to a newly opened Kaer so they can help the inhabitants reintegrate into the world above ground.

*A traditional trollish greeting to non-trolls, literally "Lay down your arms. Prepare to be boarded."

Looks like I scratched my cornea while changing contacts, again.
Back to glasses for a week while it heals.
*sigh*

In other news:
Still unemployed. Need to get back on the ball.

Used the common house gym for the first time today, trying to make it a regular thing.
Starting small, working on my stamina and will.
Worry about weight and such after I get a routine I can stick with.

Gravitas is coming along wonderfully.

Earthdawn game starting next Wednesday. I'm both psyched and a bit freaked.
I have tons of ideas and now real way to implement them yet.
Unfortunately the sounding boards I normally use to refine these ideas are both players.
Anyone wanna volunteer as someone to bounce ideas off of?

House closing should be happening in the morning.
This means, job or not, next week is gonna be busy with house work.

Other than feeling a little lonely and no job life is going pretty good.
Which of course makes fighting off depression all the harder for some reason.

Missing some of the folks back home. Trying to plan a visit.

Nothing else on my mind at the moment.

Got my car back yesterday. They've had it a month.
Paid my deductible, paid for the rental car insurance (after 18 days, more than my deductible)
Car still doesn't fucking work, not that I find this out till 3 miles down the road after the body shop closes.
Victoria lent me her car, but it started beeping a half dozen warning lights when I tried to take it out of the parking lot.
Called work, no way I'm getting there on time today.
Now I'm just waiting to call the shop and yell at them.

Fuck it, I'm going back to bed.

So my car is still in the shop. It's not going to be done till wed or thursday.
I'm supposed to be moving my stuff this week (today even).
However, I must tell people that despite the hold ups on my car repairs (which were a bit extensive) I still have to highly recommend Worcester Foreign Motors.
They have been nothing but pleasant when dealing with me and by way of apology for taking so long with my car are putting me in a rental car on their dime for the next few days till its done.

I could take the commuter rail, but seeing as I'll be spending 6+ hours on a train to begin with I'd rather not.

I've been laid off.

On the plus side this means I can help out more with the move to Camalot and have more time to look for a better job.
Also I can head home sooner to pick up my furniture.

I had some interesting thoughts I wanted to post today.
But after work I'm just too goddamn tired to think.
Oh and I think my back is filing a grievance with the rest of me.
May end up taking off work tomorrow if its still really bothering me in the morning.

I got a call from my employer again this morning.
I'm now back on for today.
I hope this isn't a trend.

The Good News:
1. I still have a job
2. I will get to participate in gaming weekend
3. Our house in Camalot has a CoO!

The Bad News:
1. Instead of starting tomorrow as planned. I will start next week. (see #2 above)
2. They are paying me crap, but at least its money.
3. Getting a mortgage is proving to be a problem.
4. I will need somewhere else to live if we don't get a mortgage by 4/1.
5. My friends will be unable to come up for GW as I have nowhere for them to stay (and other life issues on their part).

I'm employed! I start friday. Wish me luck!

This is some cool dice science. Well worth watching.

My car was broken into again. My windows are intact and it looks like all they stole was my checkbook, owners card and owners manual. Oh and a few random mix CDs. This is seriously getting on my nerves.

Shortly before moving up here I got an oil change and new tires, expensive new tires for driving in the snow and muck that is New England streets, and the day before I left my bumper got tapped in during a fender kiss.

Then I had my window broken into and my GPS stolen, outside dark_towhead and hntrpyanfar 's.
Now on the 3 mile drive from shogunhb and shadowravyn 's place to my new (temporary) residence with dark_towhead and hntrpyanfarI hit a pothole and completely blew out a tire.

It's been a rough couple weeks on my car.

I have a big favor to ask. As many of you know I'm staying with princess_muffin  these days.
However due to much stress going on in her life right now, I've been asked to find another place to live by the end of the weekend.
I need a new place to stay until Camalot is ready.

Anyone got a spare room I can crash in while I keep looking for a job? I'm willing to help with rent/utilities.

I just got home from a job interview. Things went really well, I think. I'm totally psyched.
I should hear back from them on monday or tuesday at the latest.

Usually I don't remember my dreams as anything other than a vague recollection mood or a nightmare. But I had to share this tidbit.
The plot of the dream was laid out almost exactly like an episode of Reaper:
lucasthegray opening "Dr. Zippy's Olde Timey Barber and Propeller Shoppe" (yes these things were related)
However since starting this post I can no longer remember any of the lines he was using as ads, or the writing on the poster.

There was also an angel posing as a stripper who decided to quit the pole. (Don't ask me, I got no idea where that came from)

Seems funnier in my head than it does in writing, but I suppose that's the nature of dreams.

Anyone doing anything interesting this weekend you wouldn't mind my crashing in on?
I'm bored and spending evenings sitting around the apt in chelmsford is not my idea of a good time.

I've just recently come to the realization that I'm going to be moving just days before Christmas.
A slight change of plans has me now moving on the 22nd (monday).
I could use a dresser as my car is too small to bring up furniture if someone has one they don't need, otherwise it's off to IKEA land of allen wrenches and sweedish meatballs.
