WALT DISNEY WORLD REPLACES FIRED WORKERS WITH FOREIGN REPLACEMENTS

In its quest for more of the almighty dollar, the Powers to Be at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida; has been in the process of ordering their employees who operate the resort’s data processing to train new workers from foreign countries. Once the training sessions end, these veteran workers were given the pink slips before their jobs were handed over to the trainees. According to this New York Times article, Disney is not the only American corporation engaged in this labor practice. But I cannot help but wonder how Walt would have felt.

So far, only one U.S. Senator, a Democrat from Florida named Bill Nelson is interested in seeking inquiries into Disney's hiring practices.

I was wondering if the characters still did autographs when you meet them in the parks. And if so would they sign anything you bring? we would like to possibly get character autographs at food and wine in our discovery passports. :)

Also is there any reason a character at EPCOT wouldn't pose for pictures with people holding food or drink?

our group would really like to get pictures with the characters at EPCOT during the fest. but we thought it might be neat to get those pictures with us holding a food or drink item from the booth in that particular individuals country. like say us with margaritas in mexico taking a pic with mexican donald. or us holding the mongolian beef steamed buns with mulan.

i know the characters couldn't hold the items but i'm not sure if it would be against a disney rule to have food or drinks (likely margaritas or beer) in the pictures at all. there wouldn't be drunken antics or anything like that btw. just smiles and toasts :)

Good afternoon everyone! i come to you today with a rather odd question.

for those of you who have been on the stormalong bay water slide how crazy is the sudden watery stop at the end? i know it is a strange question. do you hit the water with any sort of feet over head type speed or wedgie inducing power or anything?

lol any help would be appreciated :) i've watched countless videos online and just can't get a good feel for this.

we have friends joining us from out of state but they're wanting to return their rental car earlier to save some money and i was trying to avoid driving to the airport just to drop off a rental. we're staying at the beach club villas, i'm not sure if this might even be something we can do at the resort.

We've added Boatwrights at Port Orleans to our dining reservations. I'm from Alabama, so the menu really appealed to my parents and me. There's not many places in WDW to get catfish!

Since I'm taking my parents for thier 41st anniversary, I'd love to hear from some of y'all who have celebrated in the parks. I know about the anniversary buttons, but what else does WDW do for celebrating couples?

Finally, where can I get personalized Mickey ears at Downtown and Epcot?

54 days!!!!

hello again everyone! I was wondering what the easiest way would be to rent a wheel chair while in the world. We're staying at the beach club villas for food and wine in october and unfortunately i'm having abdominal surgery five days before we arrive. fun times but so help me i WILL be going on this vacation! :P

I know i can rent them in the parks but will the hotel have one i can rent for the duration of our stay? and i've heard of people using outside companies. have any of you done that and if so how does it work? we're florida locals so we'll be driving and won't have to worry about airports and rental cars and things.

I haven't seen much from the community in a while but i had a question and thought you lovely people might be able to help :)

This is probably a REALLY stupid question but here goes nothin :P We're staying at the beach club villas in october for food and wine. i just saw that our date (10/22) is morning extra magic hours! will we be able to get into the park through the international gateway entrance for extra magic or will we need to find a way to the front entrance?

and one more SUPER quick question. if we can use that entrance can we also buy tickets at the same time? one of our party members won't have their ticket in advance but will be staying in our room with us. i wasn't sure if they even had a ticket window there and if they did if it would be open extra early on that day.
