Handmade Software BV is looking for an experienced Python developer for our project productflight.io.
ProductFlight is a system for transforming data between different e-commerce systems using both humans and AI.
We’re a small company, with a major corporate client in Germany. You will be the second developer on the project. I’m a founder and a Python developer myself, been stroking my Python since 2011.

Required hard skills

  • Python

  • AWS (Lambda)

  • Ideally Pulumi or Terraform (either is fine)

  • MongoDB (Atlas)

  • asyncio

  • Streamlit (nice to have)

  • pytest (unit and integration)

Soft skills

  • Intelligence

  • More intelligence

  • Curiosity

  • Interest in software development and particularly in Python

  • English (you don’t need to sound like Shakespeare, just more than “London is the capital of Great Britain”)

  • Independence (you take tasks, write tasks, deploy tasks)

  • Not afraid of strong language (“bullshit”, “crap”, “fucked up”, etc.)

  • No nationalism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or other unpleasant qualities

  • Friendliness

We offer

  • Technology-first culture (I’ve been writing Python for 14 years)

  • No stupid meetings — minimal meetings in general (I hate them myself)

  • Variety of tools — ChatGPT, Codex, GitHub, BetterStack, and so on

  • Hourly pay in EUR or USD, up to 32 hours/week (Fridays off), CET ± 4 hours time zone

  • Initial 3-month contract, with a 3-week trial period — if we like each other, we’ll extend

  • Flexible working hours

From you we expect

  • CV

  • Hourly rate

  • When you can start

  • Basic understanding of our product (check the website)

  • One PR per day

You can expect from us

  • Honest and decent people (we expect the same from you)

  • Fast hiring process — we won’t drag it out for weeks

  • One interview with me, His Majesty

  • Tickets are written badly, but they do exist!

What you shouldn’t expect from us

  • Corporate atmosphere

  • Hardware (you’ll work on your own machine)

  • Smoothies, coffee, and bananas

  • Office (lol)

  • Jira or any other crusty nonsense

Love, kisses, waiting for your message,

Hi Thorin,

I saw your post and I’d like to apply.

I’m a Python developer with practical experience building and deploying Streamlit applications, including an AI-based health companion app (Healix AI). I’m comfortable working independently — taking tasks from idea to code to deployment. I use Git/GitHub daily for version control, branching, pull requests, and clean commit history.

I’m currently integrating LangChain and deploying small services using AWS Lambda + MongoDB Atlas, so the tech stack you’re using aligns with what I’m actively working on. I enjoy direct communication, clear responsibilities, and shipping features rather than sitting in meetings.

I can start immediately.

Hourly rate: negotiable (€10–€20 depending on scope).

Happy to jump on a short call to discuss the role and expectations.

Thanks,
Iffat

Hi Thorin,

I’m Ayush Singh, a Python developer with a strong interest in backend systems, automation, and AI-assisted workflows. I’ve gone through productflight.io and the idea of transforming data between e-commerce systems using a mix of humans + AI is genuinely interesting.

Relevant experience / fit:

  • Python (asyncio, clean architecture, production-minded code)

  • AWS Lambda (event-driven workflows, API-based services)

  • MongoDB (schema design, querying, Atlas-style setups)

  • Testing with pytest (unit + integration)

  • Infrastructure basics with Terraform / IaC concepts

  • Comfortable working independently: picking tasks, improving tickets, deploying without hand-holding

  • Daily GitHub workflow — one meaningful PR per day is realistic for me

Streamlit isn’t my core focus, but I’m comfortable picking it up quickly if needed.

Logistics:

  • Hourly rate: €XX / hour (open to discussion)

  • Availability: Up to 32 hours/week

  • Start date: Can start within X days

  • Time zone: CET ±4 works for me

I value direct communication, minimal meetings, and getting real work shipped. Strong language doesn’t scare me — bad code does :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
No corporate nonsense on my side either.

Happy to share my CV and GitHub right away and jump into a quick interview if this looks like a fit.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Ayush Singh
