CMS Random Sorting

Hi all,

I’m trying to add random sorting to a collection list using wfu-sort-dir=”random”. I’ve applied this to the collection list and installed the script, however when I load the site it’s not working? Does anyone have any advice on how to get this working?

Hey Jamie, what’s the published page link?

Make sure you’ve added wfu-sort to the parent element. In a collection list, that’s usually the middle one in the 3 purple elements.

I’ve managed to get it working using Javascript.

This usually happens because wfu-sort-dir="random" only works when the attribute is placed on the Collection List Wrapper, not the Collection List itself, and the Webflow Utilities script must load after the CMS items are rendered. Also note that Webflow caching can make it look like it’s not random unless you hard refresh or test in an incognito window. Double-check the attribute placement, script load order, and clear publish cache, then republish the site.
