Hi everyone — I’m looking for a Three.js developer (or a technical artist with strong JS/WebGL capability) to assist with a real-time 3D configurator project for portable buildings/sheds.
We currently have:
-
2D floorplan layouts (SVG-like schematic styling)
-
Basic 3D reference renders
-
Real-world material references (siding, shingles, trim, doors, windows, ramps, vents)
What we need:
A Three.js developer who can:
-
Convert the 2D layout logic into interactive 3D versions
-
Import and optimize GLTF/GLB models (low-poly, modular)
-
Apply PBR materials, texture swapping, and color customization
-
Handle geometry placement rules (doors, windows, vents, ramps, loft areas)
-
Create reusable components for building elements
-
Optimize for performance (mobile + browser)
-
Work collaboratively with our lead programmer
Bonus skills:
-
Experience with Blender, 3ds Max, or low-poly modeling
-
Understanding of real-world building construction
-
GLSL/Shader experience
-
UI/UX familiarity for WebGL tools
Example visuals from our current system
(I will attach these in the post)
-
2D Layout (floorplan)
-
Basic 3D Shed
-
Real shed photo for material reference
-
Another small 2D→3D example
Engagement Details
-
Contract / freelance (remote)
-
Start ASAP
-
Consistent ongoing work available
-
Please provide:
-
Your hourly rate
-
Links to relevant Three.js / WebGL work
-
Any GLTF/GLB samples you created or optimized
-
Brief note on your availability
-
Skill Priority
This is NOT a generic 3D artist role.
The priority is Three.js, WebGL, JavaScript, and real-time rendering.
If you’re a technical artist with JS experience, that works too.
Thanks — looking forward to talking with you!
Dennis
