FAQ

Is Dictx still open source?

Yes. Dictx remains GPL-licensed and free to build from source.

What does Pro actually add?

Pro is the convenience layer: signed installers, in-app updates, and priority support. Free still includes the full local dictation workflow.

How does the first-100 free Pro claim work?

The app claims it automatically on first activation. If your install lands in the first 100, Pro is enabled instantly at no cost.

How do I activate Pro inside the app?

Open Settings, go to About, and enter your Pro license key (lk_...). Legacy checkout keys (polar_cl_...) still work for migration.

Where does /buy go?

`/buy` redirects to the hosted checkout target configured in `landing/vercel.json`.

Where does the DMG download come from?

`/api/download/macos` resolves the latest GitHub release and redirects to the newest macOS .dmg asset.
