ToneTogether
A repository for the Justin's, Ritvik's, and Frederick's project built at PennApps Fall 2015. Our plan was to basically make a combination of SoundCloud and Github - essentially, collaborative, open-source music / sounds that people can contribute to and keep track of. If Ritvik has a _ fire _ beatbox but lives in India, he (ideally) would publish his track and skills onto the web through ToneTogether. Justin, a _ fire _ rapper loves his beat and wants to edit it. ToneTogether aims to allow for live editing inside the web application, so Justin can literally just freestyle to the beat through the microphone and have his combo published. Unfortunately, we faced major technical barriers. It was a struggle to work with audio inside JavaScript, as there were a dearth of good devices to render sound waves / audio, let alone in a live setting that ToneTogether dreams to be. We were all pretty unexperienced with the idea, but we are happy to be leaving PennApps Fall 2015 with a bunch of knowledge and motivation to continue hacking after the hackathon.
