Hack House

Hack House is a Decentralized platform for booking accommodation together with your Web3 friends. We solve the issues of high cost and finding roommates.

This project is designed to solve a common problem me and my web3 hacker friends encountered. That is booking a stay with your other builders.

Inspiration

The main inspiration for this project comes from ETHAmsterdam. It was my first hackathon and didn't know any web3 builders. However, I really wanted to book a stay with some other hackers. Unfortunatelly as a newbie I didn't manage to find anyone and I realized that even if I'd find someone it would still require a lot of trust to actually book a stay together(I ended up in a dorm with random people who were partying). That was then when I came up with an idea of decentralized booking process, where everyone can just payfor himself and the money is safely stored on a smart contract. And now I was finally able to build the backbone of it and present it here in ETHWarsaw!

What it does

Hack House is a Decentralized platform for booking accommodation together with your Web3 friends. We solve the issues of high cost, finding roommates and scams. Anybody can add a book offer. Then offer is available for other people to join independently. Every user that joins an offer and pays receives an NFT, generated using offers main picture. NFTs will serve as tickets to the accommodation. Funds are held on smart contract until either all spots are filled or the offer expires. When all spots are filled offer gets fulfilled. In case of expiring, funds are safely returned to users.

What's next for Hack House

We are planning to add many features such as :

  • Hacker Validation - we'll check if you're a hacker before allowing you to create or join offers. We'll check if you have NFT Hackaton Ticket in your wallet.
  • Profile Page - page containing your past, future and present stays data.
  • DAO - for our fellow users. Our NFTs will grant access to it.

We are also planning to go live on mainnet before the Devcon in Bogota!
