What Inspired us? 🤔

The only reason for which your college administration will hunt you down is your Attendance. Being students, we are always concerned about maintaining attendance and often we fail to do so.

Furthermore, our beloved teachers are buried under CSV files when it comes to managing the attendance of each and every student.

That’s where Attendo kicks in.

Attendo is a smarter and secure way for managing tedious tasks like attendance, making the life of teachers and students a lot easier!

How does it work ❓

When it is time for attendance, the teacher will go to their web portal where a Dynamic QR-code will be shown. Now, the teacher will share their screen and ask the students to take out their apps and scan the Dynamic QR-code.

Each time a student scans the Dynamic QR-code using their mobile app, the QR-code is changed and a new one is auto-generated. So, each student will mark their attendance through a unique QR-Code. This ensures that the student was attending the class and not marking a "proxy"

Component of our Project

For Teachers We have built a web portal for the teachers where they can log in and

  • Create new lectures and notify the students
  • Generate the Dynamic QR-code
  • Check out the attendance for previous classes

For Students We have built a Mobile Application, where students can sign-up and mark the attendance through a QR-code scanner whenever the teacher allows it. They can also see their attendance in previous lectures.

Planning the database schema, Implementing the QR-code scanner made us scratch our heads

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are all extremely proud of our grit, having pushed the project to completion even though our team comprised 2 members from the App world and the other 2 from the Web world, we managed to merge our expertise together and build a fully functional product that can be used ANYWHERE!

What we learned

The learning which we will take home with us is, how to collaborate as frontend and backend developers and what are the challenges we need to look out for when working on such big projects.

What's next for Attendo?

The immediate goal for Attendo is to improve the user experience both for a teacher and for students, as some features were dropped at the last minute and are yet to become functional.

Features in our mind

  1. Build and Monitor Polls📊 Allowing tutors to send poll questions to the students, and collect student responses from the mobile app.

  2. Build and View Time Table📋 All the teachers can set time for their lectures and students will get the TimeTable generated based on lecture time.

  3. Analytics for each student📈 Tracking the record of each student in the database and generating the progress report based on it.
