I ordered more RAM for my Mac, which arrived today. "Is this something I can install by myself?" I asked
rasterweb. He emailed me a link to a page that demonstrates how it's done. "Or I can do it for you," he said. After I clicked on the link and stared at the screen for several seconds, paralyzed with fear, I emailed back, "Yeah, I think you should do it."
*gulp*
So, Dr. Frankenstein I'm not, I guess, because the sight of an iMac's innards made me weak in the knees. I saw wires. And some kind of paste. (Paste? There's *paste* in my computer? And it says I need "Torx." The hell?)
I also got some iPod accessories, because I've been meaning to buy some stuff, and if I ordered them with the RAM I got free shipping. Whee! I got a little silicone sleeve (pink!) and a wristband carrying case.
These are meant to be bike riding accessories, but I seem to be having a hard time actually getting my bike. I've been there three times, but they're always super-busy, and there's no one available to help me. And bike buying, I know from years of waiting for my bike-selling-ex-boyfriend to get home from work, is a time-consuming process. I'm not gonna stand around for forty-five minutes, waiting for Suzy Suburb to decide if Little Johnny should get the blue one or the red one. So I'm gonna try again this Saturday. My plan is to be waiting outside the door when they open. At least one salesperson will be free if I'm the first person in the shop, right?
Damn well better be.
I have come here to post links and kick ass. So here are the links.

I have come here to post links and kick ass. So here are the links.
- How much would it cost to be Batman? If you're too lazy to go read, the answer is $3,365,449 for start-up and first year expenses. There's also a link in there to the "Forbes Fictional Fifteen" which ranks the wealth of fictional characters, where Bruce Wayne comes in at number seven--higher than Mr. Burns!
- Astro City Dark Age comes out tomorrow. Finally!
- The 25 Greatest Batman Graphic Novels. (Just as a heads up, I tried to view this a couple times on two different days, but something on the second page kept crashing Firefox, so today I had to give in and view it in IE.) My beloved Thrillkiller came in a number twenty-one. I've read most of these in either collected form or monthly (except the ones by Grant Morrison, obviously), but there are a few I haven't picked up yet. I was surprised to see the Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman Trinity on the honorable mentions list, because I thought it was horrible. And this is me we're talking about here--the S/B/WW triangle fangirl. Even with the lovely "Batman peeks at nekkid WW" moment, I thought it was stilted, badly paced, and everyone was varying degrees of OOC. Bleh.
- Speaking of Grant Fucking Morrison, yesterday's big news was that he's been put in some kind of supreme overlord position at DC (they're handing them out like candy these days, I hear). My first reaction was absolute horror, but in reading the piece it says, "Morrison is looking at the post-Crisis DCU, helping to populate it, or, more accurately re-populate it with some revitalized characters and concepts. Some will be written by Morrison, while others will be moved to other creators for execution." So I guess as long as he sticks to ruining all the nobodies, I'll just be off in the corner being a happy little fangirl over the characters I like and he can do whatever he wants and I'll continue to pretend he does not exist. I love gutterninja's take on it, though. *dies*
- Go vote for your fave character in the Battle of the Comic-Book Babes.
- I thought this would be of interest to some of you guys on my flist: It's not easy being a progressive activist in Texas.
- IGN FilmForce says Nightcrawler may be in X3, but with a very small part. And recast, obviously.
- The X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse website has some cool wallpapers up.
- My boss, of all people, emailed me this link. Batman? Blecch. A Superman zealot explores a curious cultural divide. Being a Batman fangirl, all it did, for me, was reinforce the fact that Batman is way cooler. *g*
- Sneak Peek has four pages from the official Fantastic Four movie adaptation. I didn't look at them, in case they were spoilery.
- Sarah Michelle Gellar's next project is an adaptation of a video game. "Alice" is based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" novels. In the game, Alice returns to Wonderland and confronts the Queen of Hearts.
- FilmRot takes their turn, with an editorial addressed to Brett Ratner. I guess it's supposed to be pro-Ratner. Highlights include, "Ratner is a hack, there is no question of that. He is more interested in the profit his film makes then the artistic merits of it." I feel better already!
- Avi Arad talks Marvel movies. Again. How many times has the guy given this same interview? Projects mentioned include Silver Surfer (rumored to have a "Zen Buddhist" director), Captain America ("'Back To The Future' type stuff,"), a Hulk sequel (which he calls "Diet Hulk"), Thor ("…it's a vast sort of Lord Of The Rings universe"), Ant Man ("a 'Honey I Shrunk The Superhero' type of story"), an R-rated Punisher sequel, a Daredevil sequel (why god, why?!?!), plus Cloak And Dagger, Iron Fist, Nick Fury, Black Panther, and Namor. Egads.
- Selma Blair says Hellboy 2 tentatively been scheduled to begin at the beginning of 2007.
- On the upcoming series, ''MTV's The '70s House," a dozen young people will swap their iPods for 8-track players and their PSPs for Pong in what the hyperbolic cable network is calling a ''far-out journey back in time."
- Fox and Marvel Sue Over Zoom. Fox and Marvel allege the film rips off "X-Men" with elements including teenage mutant super-heroes, an underground training facility, and a sinister government program.
