And speaking of birthdays...here's a picture of me, I'd say it's 1978 or 79, with my Incredible Hulk birthday cake.
Note that I'm sticking my tongue out, evidence of my displeasure at being forced to wear a dress, and also at having approximately 5,873 pictures taken of the cake before we could cut it. (Presents came *after* cake, so I was eager to get the damn cake thing over with and get to the loot.)
Also note that even back then my mom couldn't take a picture to save her life.
Why am I boring you with childhood photos? Because today is the day the Hulk returns!
For those not in the know: the Hulk smashed Las Vegas, so the Illuminati (Namor! Eeeeeee! Black Bolt! Eeeeeeee!) decided to exile him to outer space, where he couldn't do any damage. Well, that went badly, and now the Hulk is back, and boy is he PISSED. We're having a party at Neptune Comics, complete with green cookies and green punch and Hulk Hands. (Past readers of this journal may remember that Hulk was kind enough to send a sympathy card when Captain America died.)
But what I'm really excited about today is issue #1 of the Sub-Mariner. Please don't let this suck. Please don't let this suck.
Lastly, lisaatneptune has started a community for her project, POWER in Comics. Check it out. (I'm KellyAnn over there, since I obviously don't use my internet pseud when I'm working at the shop. Though that might be cool. "I bought my comics from THE DEVIL.")
