Not only are we building tools and services like Visual Studio Code, GitHub, and Azure Spring Cloud, we\u2019re also part of the Java Community Process, supporting the Eclipse Foundation, and contributing to OpenJDK. We use Java ourselves running millions of JVMs in production\u2014from LinkedIn and Minecraft to Azure Big Data services and Yammer. As a member of the Java community, we want to run a community event to encourage best practice sharing and interaction. We invite you to join us for <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/jdconf-2022\">Microsoft JDConf<\/a> on May 4-5, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is Microsoft JDConf?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Microsoft JDConf is a virtual, Java focused conference where developers can come together to share interesting topics and stay engaged. <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/events\/java-jdconf-2020\/?WT.mc_id=jdconf-56324-jemorg\">JDConf started in 2020<\/a> and we saw an amazing turnout. We want to keep the engagement going and provide a place to learn more about the latest Java cloud development trends, best practices, tips, tricks, and more. Some of the topics you can expect at this year\u2019s event include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Architecture:<\/u>\u00a0Effective application design, best practices, cookbooks<\/li>\n<li><u>Development tools:<\/u>\u00a0IDEs, build and automation, testing<\/li>\n<li><u>Frameworks:<\/u>\u00a0Spring, Jakarta EE, Micronaut, Vert.x, Grails, JHipster, etc.<\/li>\n<li><u>Java in the cloud:<\/u>\u00a0Running Java apps in the cloud, containers\/Kubernetes, PaaS, Serverless, etc.<\/li>\n<li><u>Java language:<\/u>\u00a0Core Java, JDK, platform, JVM languages, etc.<\/li>\n<li><u>Observability and performance:<\/u>\u00a0Performance monitoring, tuning, diagnostics<\/li>\n<li><u>Open source and community:<\/u>\u00a0Open source projects, OpenJDK, community organizations<\/li>\n<li><u>Security:<\/u>\u00a0Keeping applications and data secure<\/li>\n<li><u>Stories:<\/u>\u00a0Customer stories, developer stories, interesting case studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>When is it?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>JDConf will run as three blocks over two days\u2014May 4-5\u2014to include speakers and attendees from around the world. No content will be repeated during the broadcast, and all content will be available on demand after the event. These are the three blocks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May 4, 2022 at 8:30 AM \u2013 12:00 PM PDT \/ 3:30 PM \u2013 7:00 PM UTC<\/li>\n<li>May 4, 2022 at 7:00 PM \u2013 10:30 PM PDT \/ May 5, 2022 2:00 AM \u2013 5:30 AM UTC<\/li>\n<li>May 5, 2022 at 2:00 AM \u2013 5:30 AM PDT \/ 9:00 AM \u2013 12:30 PM UTC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>How can I participate?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In addition to attending, you can also present! One of our goals is to highlight Java experts and showcase the great work that\u2019s going on across the Java community. To support this, we invite you to <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/jdconf-2022-cfs\">submit session topics for consideration<\/a>. You can submit these types of sessions that align to one of the topics above:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular session (25 minutes): This is the standard session format for the event.<\/li>\n<li>Lightning talk (5 minutes): This is an opportunity to submit short, recorded videos that will air between blocks and be promoted via our social channels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All sessions are virtual, and we strongly encourage live presentation for regular sessions. All lightning talks are pre-recorded.
