{"id":21984,"date":"2006-07-03T12:24:42","date_gmt":"2006-07-03T19:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/aspnet\/?p=21984"},"modified":"2006-07-03T12:24:42","modified_gmt":"2006-07-03T19:24:42","slug":"cannot-create-a-new-website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/dotnet\/cannot-create-a-new-website\/","title":{"rendered":"Cannot Create A New Website?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last few months, I&#8217;ve seen a number of forum posts from people saying that when they choose &#8220;Create New Website&#8221;, the dialog box that showed them the different types of websites they could create was completely horked.\u00a0 For example, instead of showing this:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/msdnshared.blob.core.windows.net\/media\/MSDNBlogsFS\/prod.evol.blogs.msdn.com\/CommunityServer.Components.PostAttachments\/00\/00\/65\/54\/08\/goodcreate.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>it would instead show this:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/msdnshared.blob.core.windows.net\/media\/MSDNBlogsFS\/prod.evol.blogs.msdn.com\/CommunityServer.Components.PostAttachments\/00\/00\/65\/54\/06\/badcreate.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Often when we see bugs like this, it&#8217;s very frustrating for us as testers, and even as a product group.\u00a0 We know the bug exists.\u00a0 You tell us it&#8217;s there, you show us screen shots and everything, but not matter what we do, we are unable to repro the bug in house.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Well, I can say we have successfully tamed this bug.\u00a0 It appears that this dialog gets screwed up by some third party registry cleaning tools.
