The NDC family of conferences are amazing and if there’s one in your neck of the woods, I encourage you to check it out. But now I’m on the train back home, so I’m catching up on what I missed in the news this week. Here’s some of the great stories that I found:

Super Simple Git Tagging & Releases in Azure DevOps
How do Git tags relate to the release process? Well, what if you could spin up a build and then a deployment pipeline just by creating a tag? James Montemagno explores explores the GitHub Release task and how it can organize and automate your release process.

Where do you run your Azure Pipelines?
One of my favorite things about Azure Pipelines is its flexibility – do you want to ignore all of the problems and just let Microsoft hand you a build agent in the cloud? You got it. Want to run your own build agent on a machine in your data center with custom software installed? No problem. Michael Rueefi explores these and a middle option: running your own agent within Azure Container Instances.

Change Work Item Type in a fresh installation of Azure DevOps Server
One of the features we recently added to the on-premises version of Azure DevOps Server is the ability to change a work item type. But there’s a caveat: reporting services must be disabled. Gian Maria Ricci explains how to make sure that you have the ability to change a work item type in a new installation of Azure DevOps Server.

Five Things About JavaScript in DevOps
Cloud Developer Advocate and DevOps thought leader Donovan Brown joins John Papa to talk DevOps. They discuss a variety of topics – what does Azure DevOps have to do with generators, Captain Kirk, or ponies, after all? But they also discuss how you can automate your development pipeline using whatever tools you want with Azure DevOps.

As always, if you’ve written an article about Azure DevOps or find some great content about DevOps on Azure then let me know!
