Who We Are

At Derilinx, we believe data is a valuable resource that should be nurtured, shared, and reused to realise its full potential. However, in many organisations, data remains locked in silos and of poor quality, making it difficult to access and use effectively.

Founded in 2014 by Deirdre Lee and Fergal Marrinan as a spinout from the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, NUI Galway, Derilinx helps organisations foster a data-driven culture. We empower everyone — not just the IT department — to confidently discover, use, and publish data in a secure and consistent manner. With extensive expertise in Open Data, Shared Data, Data Governance, and other aspects of Data Management, the Derilinx team is dedicated to breaking down barriers and enabling organisations to maximise the value of their data.

CEO

I have 25 years’ experience in delivering digital platforms and solutions to the public sector across the globe, specifically focusing on building products and systems to facilitate the maintenance of regulated entities, and entity data.

I am very honoured to join Derilinx as CEO and I hope to bring my experience to bear to enable Derilinx to continue to drive decision-making and inspire change. The potential of the continued evolution of the shared and open data domain is enormous; and the capability of Derilinx to provide impactful and purpose-directed products and services to our global customer base really excites me.

  • Derilinx manages the Irish Government’s Open Data Portal and provides technical guidance on key aspects of the Open Data Initiative, including the Technical Framework, Strategy, outreach, and governance.

  • With our support, the Irish Open Data Initiative has being ranked as one of the top countries in Europe for Open Data Maturity for the last 7 years.

  • Derilinx also supports the Public Service Data Catalogue for the Irish Government, enabling the private identification and classification of whole-of-government data.

  • We are the leading provider of Data Management services under another Government framework, supporting over 30 organisations to date.
