Hi, Livejournal! I had a birthday last week!

Thank you so much to wendy, earlofcardigans, insaneboingo, gypsy_sally, anoneknewmoose, and rivers_bend for the awesome v-gifts. They're all so cute!

And thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday! You are all awesome and amazing people, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life. ♥

I went and saw Wicked last night with Meredith and Nikki. It was pretty awesome. I wasn't as excited going in as I should have been, for some reason, but I'm really glad I went. The woman who played Glenda was amazing. Well, everyone was amazing, but she was especially good. Apparently The Lion King is coming to town in the next year, so I think we're going to try and see that. It's supposed to be seriously amazing, and even though I don't LOVE the movie, I think the musical is something I shouldn't pass up. Tickets are so expensive, though, so we'll see. It'll probably depend on both of them, since they're both in school, although Meredith has a job.

My birthday is Friday, and I'm not even remotely looking forward to it. I have to go to some seminar for work that day, which is going to be incredibly boring, and I'm having to compromise on the celebration because people are going out of town (people are always going out of town on my birthday, because it just falls at the wrong time of year) and I'm just generally feeling sorry for myself. Self-pity is not an attractive quality. I'll get over it by the time it's actually my birthday.

Ella, who isn't scheduled to get fixed until April 19th, because that's the soonest they can get her in, has now gone into heat twice in the space of the week. I feel really terrible for her, because she's feeling awful, but I feel sorry for us, too. She's in hell, and she's bound and determined to take us down with her. It's my fault, though, because I didn't realize there was going to be such a long wait, and didn't call as soon as I should have. I'd take her somewhere else, but this is the cheapest place, and I have to be so careful with money.

One last thing, thank you, anon. You are amazing and awesome, and you should come forward with your identity immediately so I can shower you with love and affection, as you so deserve. ♥

I just woke up from a nap where I dreamed my secret fandom enemy was plastering the internet with lies about me, including things like how I stole all my Sim ideas from other people, never mind the fact that they are bandom sims and I've stolen them from real life. In my dream I was devastated.

Guys, seriously, what is my brain?

Also, happy birthday to almostblue! You deserve sparkles bb, but I am too lazy for the coding. I hope you get them in real life! ♥

I got up at 8 this morning, fell back asleep at 12:30, and just woke up fifteen minutes ago and got into an argument with my mom. I realize that part of the fight was my fault (okay, most of it) because I woke up grumpy, but SHE IS SO ANNOYING sometimes. I have gotten nothing accomplished today, either. Blah.

Okay, last night I went out to dinner at this awesome Thai place where I wore a tiara that my cousin Meredith got me, because I'm a princess, and I drank mango belinis (idk if that's spelled right, but whatever) and got presents (my favorite of which is pictured here) and then got semi-drunk at two different bars afterwords.

There was a woman at the first bar who was also celebrating her thirtieth, and was wearing a tiara (but way tackier than mine, I'm a tiara snob, apparently) and she was SO DRUNK. The band invited us up to the stage to do tequila shots with them since it was our birthday and she made a complete ass of herself. I declined the invitation, because I hate Tequila, and thank God, because I had no desire to be in the middle of that train wreck.

Anyway, the band kind of sucked at the first bar, and they were too loud so we went down the street to a different one, and the band there was awesome. Like, they were hilariously dorky, and instead of a drum kit they had bongos, and the best part? It was four white dudes and they covered "Rappers Delight." RAPPERS DELIGHT. It was awesome. And they did a damn good job with it, too.

And then we went home and I was in bed asleep by 1:00am. It was an excellent evening.

This is kind of a fly-by post, because I'm so tired (for no reason, I didn't do anything today) but I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes. I tried to comment on everyone's entries, but if I missed anyone, my apologies. I appreciated every one of them. ♥
