About the Scholarship
The Deep Roots Scholarship Fund is committed to supporting the next generation of leaders in agriculture, business, and related industries. Each year, we award $2,000 scholarships to deserving Grade 12 students from five local high schools: Maryfield, Wawota, Whitewood, Moosomin, and Redvers.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for the Deep Roots Scholarship, applicants must:

Be a Grade 12 student at Maryfield, Wawota, Whitewood, Moosomin, or Redvers high school.

Plan to pursue post-secondary education in agriculture, business, or a related field (e.g. agri-business, trades, tech, science, finance, accounting, or mechanics).

Provide a Letter of Acceptance from their chosen post-secondary institution.
How to Apply
Students must:

Complete the online application form.

Submit a 3–5 minute video answering at least two of the following questions:

What changes do you foresee in primary agriculture over the next 10 years?
-
What role do you envision yourself playing in the future of agriculture?

How can farms attract new individuals to pursue careers in agriculture?

Submitting your video:
Upload your video to a platform like Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, or Vimeo, and include the link in your application form.
Timeline

January 2025: Applications open

May 20, 2025: Deadline to apply

June 15, 2025: Applications reviewed and recipients selected based on alignment with Hebert Group’s core values

January 2026: Scholarship funds distributed after recipients complete their first post-secondary semester
