1) Survive work (harder than it seems after the shots last night. *waves fist at roomie*) Hope co-worker who is backing me up asks questions about the to do list I just emailed her;
2) Finish packing. Not a big deal - I need to pack my bathroom kit (shampoo, toothbrush, deodorant, meds, brush, etc.) and my computer and double-check I haven't missed anything important;
3) Empty and clean litter box. Scrub floor around litter box. Refill with fresh litter and make sure there's enough for the week;
4) Take out garbage;
5) Wash dishes;
Optional 6), depending on time: wash bedding and remake bed. Depends on when I escape work - if I get out early enough, I'll toss my sheets in the washer as soon as I get home. Note to self: this would be easier with more than one set of sheets, you know. Get another set.
7) Leave for airport (around 7:00 p.m. The Rocket takes about 30-45 minutes, flight leaves at 10:05 in the evening and while it says be there at least 3 hours earlier, 2 is fine, especially with electronic check-in, which I adore. Scan barcode and done!
8) Purchase power adaptor for laptop (Canada --> Europe) from duty free store.
1) Catch up on various online things, since my lawyers are both AFK today. That includes:
a) write at least one short story and/or notes for another three for 52 Pick Up; No actual writing, but I do have an idea for the next one, thanks to something frito_kal posted.
b) catch up on logs and emails.
2) Get off at Keele and check out a couple of birthday venue options and then walk home;
3) Scoop kitty litter;
4) Wash dishes.
Tomorrow:
1) Join the YMCA, as it's payday. Swimming will depend on state of swimsuit, which was not looking good last time I used it;
2) If swimsuit dead, go buy another and swim cap at the Eaton Centre;
3) Write another short story/notes for 52 Pick Up;
4) Transfer credit card payment via paypal.
Weekend:
1) Sweep and mop floors while roomie is away;
2) Hole up somewhere and finish 52 Pick Up and be caught up to Week 15 (five more stories between now and Sunday);
3) Post "hold the date" Event in Facebook for birthday do.
3) Discovered a hole in the butt of my last pair of jeans. At work;
4) Yet another day of work insanity, to top off the week of work insanity;
5) Outlook crashing on me at about 2:30 p.m. and not coming back until close to 5, which meant I had a bunch of emails to answer before I could leave;
6) General crankiness, spurred by various things including that wacky PMS thing.
The Good:
1) Two new pairs of jeans for just over $50 at Winners;
2) Lunch at my sushi place - seafood udon, yum;
3) Went to bed early and slept, with kitties acting as hot water bottles;
4) Today is lovely and sunny;
5) My hair was pretty yesterday;
6) My back no longer hurts.
The Plan-y:
Today, I am going to:
1) Walk down to Roncesvalles;
2) Get brunch at one of the coffee shop/cafes;
3) Take my laptop with me and WRITE;
4) Take my phone with me so ferox can ping me to let me know when she wants to go look at bikes.
My mood's still all over the place, so I think going outside and spending some time on myself that isn't sitting on the couch with the laptop is a good idea. The walk's about five kilometres, so it ought to get the blood stirring (I might grab some juice and a slice of toast before I leave, since my blood sugar's been all over the place lately for some reason) and it is very sunny out there. Also, getting out of the rut is a good thing. And I know the only way I'm going to get any of the short stories I have on board done is to remove myself from all distractions.
So, I survived another St Patrick's Day in the Village. It was a good one this year, with Lee showing up unexpectedly and Maria bestowing upon me a rather spiffy Guinness t-shirt. Even the morning after wasn't horrendous, although it wasn't pleasant. Taking the day after as a vacation day was the best idea ever.
Oh, and indiana_j? People were sad you weren't there. Lee and Mindy asked after you. :)
So, round up of the week aside from Irish New Year... um, stuff happened? Counselling is going swimmingly, I'm edging closer to having the courage to Go Be Social outside of my comfort zones, French is progressing nicely and the weather has been gorgeous all week. Proper sunshine and warmth and everything - I was outside in a t-shirt yesterday! Of course, they're predicting below freezing next week, so making the most of it while it lasts.
Work has been on-off. Wednesday was Expenses Day, apparently - not only did I have Alvin's expense claims for the year to process, but Jane decided she wanted hers done to. So yeah, the slightly crazed Twits were brought to you by a day spent with spreadsheets, receipts and way too many numbers. We finished, however, and got Alvin submitted a full two weeks before end of fiscal year, which was a great feeling. Even if I stayed until 6 to do it, missing valuable pub time!
Also, I got a bit extra in my pay this week. Accrued backpay for a small raise given in October. It covers various expenses nicely.
Other things I have accomplished:
Driver's licence renewal - everything's assembled and done, just need to mail the envelope on my way home tonight;
Doctor's appointment - meds have been renewed and purchased yesterday, so I'm good for another 90 days;
Hair appointment - made for next Friday at 5:15 p.m. Cut and colour;
Credit card - $250 on its way through Paypal, $160 on its way into my bank account for processing;
Tax return - submitted. I should get about $500 back.
Yet to do:
Contacts and glasses - today after work, if ferox is available I got the red ones - they look even better with my hair down and dry;
Gym - cancel membership and join YMCA;
Emails/texts - respond to everything that came through Wednesday/Thursday, since I was incommunicado for most of yesterday;
Clothes shopping once I get the insurance money for my contacts and glasses back - jeans, a couple of t-shirts that aren't a) black and b) from Dexcon, swimsuit and swimming cap (I hate the things, but I hate chlorine-damaged hair more and if I'm swimming regularly, I'm going to need one);
Use the gift cards Aisy got me a while ago now for microdermabrasion;
Scrabble on Monday? I'm not sure, given they're not exactly the most social of people and I haven't been for ages due to feeling out of place, but that could have been the depression talking again. I'll give it a go again on Monday and see; Not this Monday - I'm needed to make dinner.
Book discussion group - April 14 at High Park library. Must get book and read it;
Sign up on some kind of social/dating site. Follow up on various leads. Be proactive about getting my own social group and GASP! actually getting back to that dating thing. It's time.

So, just about all my stuff is done. Gifts have been bought, packing has been (mostly) done, various bits and pieces taken care of. Kitty litter has been cleaned out and entirely replaced, Spike's claws trimmed (Angel was hiding), kitty food for the duration bought. Left on the list is:
* Laundry
* Pack remaining clothing that's currently in the laundry basket and bathroom stuff
* Strap philf's tent to the outside of my pack so I can finally get it back to him, three years on. *meeps*
* Trim Angel's claws Ow. That is one squirmy cat.
* Grocery shopping so the roommate has food for the week. Also, pick up final item for Mum.
* Take out garbage
I think that's it - 's not a high brain function day for me today. Also it's that wonderful time all women 'love' and I'm cramping front and back. *mehs*
I should be on a little tomorrow - I don't fly to Vancouver until 5, then arrive around 7 and then have four hours to get to the correct terminal and check in. Good thing I have plenty to do - Jen's beta, Wolverine and the X-Men season 1 downloaded, a couple of plots to write up, Wiki bits and pieces - since I don't think I can get free 'Net at Vancouver airport. However, if I can, definitely expect me around. ;)
Okay, I'm getting down to the wire here. Leaving next Saturday for Australia for three weeks, and there's OMG STUFF! to do:
Drag back pack out from under bed and de-fur since the cats use it as a bed. Pack non-essentials. - Today. Holy crap. So. Much. Hair. Note to self, next time make sure everything is zipped up and closed before you store the damn thing. Many thanks to Aisy for use of her vac to get the damn fur off.
Prepare Jane's files for her office day April 15; do all filing; prep last trial file; get various reports completed and sent off; finish expense claims before March 31; make sure Helenie knows what's what; write Helenie's to-do list for Sonia - This week
Finish logging for any plots my girls are in. - this week
Send Yvette to the WCA with Kevin for spring break. - this week
Send Amanda to Muir for a week or so. - this week
Make various announcements to game comms outling absence and availability to mod. - this week
Pick up dry cleaning - Monday.
Doctor's appointment for prescription - Tuesday
Get paid - Thursday (yay backpay!) Boo, Sonia
Gift buying - part-way done, three to go, know what I'm getting for all of them. Thursday.
I do believe I'm actually starting to get excited about things. It was hard earlier due to OMG STRESS! but some of the causes of that have gone and the rest I'm just trying to ignore so I don't go insane. Because most of it, in the long run, is minor stuff in the scheme of things any way and I refuse to let it ruin the first break I've had in a year.
Fill med prescription obtained today in mad dash to walk-in hours at doctor's office and start taking them in the morning, as per doctor's advice on tiredness issues.
Finish dishes, tidy living room, put various burned DVDs in folder, wipe down coffee table.
Clean room, prepping for arrival of Bed tomorrow - laundry in the basket, clean laundry away, tops of cabinets cleared off, wire basket thing emptied.
Gym? Maybe.
Saturday
Move bike, mattress and milkcrate bookshelves out of room so there's space for the bed to be brought in.
Apologies for the radio silence over the last week or so - I've been partying hard over New Years, and the times I have been online I've had the attention span of a ferret on speed. However, back to work today and desperately trying to avoid actual work, so here's me, in the Livejournal!
First up... mail! redhawk, thanks so much for the Amazon package of doom. *grins* I think I have all the Harry Dresden books now, and whilst I haven't had a chance to listen to the CD yet due to visitations, you can bet I will. Thanks again.
amythyst7, your parcel arrived yesterday - we're at 2241, not 3241. ;) Thanks for the munchies and the card, especially the ginger candy. :) aliciam, we definitely need to have lunch now since I have peach cobbler bars for you. ;)
nute and diamond_dust06 left yesterday, alestar, doqz and thatpalebluedot all leave today, leaving just incandescently until the weekend. Woe. I have to admit, I'm looking forward to having a quiet month, if only to catch up on sleep! It's been fantastic to see everyone, and this year was one of the most fun NYE parties I've had - I even avoided the tearies despite the six cups of sangria I had!
No resolutions for me, but I do have a sort of To Do list for the year. Starting next Monday, since I really need to have a bit of a break after the past two weeks.
Financial:
* Pay off credit card (around $5000 AU) * Pay off various personal debts (around $2500 AU) * Create ING Canada savings account and sock away $50 a month, initially towards the personal debts, then for personal savings.
Fitness:
* Do more activity: 1) Immediate goal is to get off the subway at Keele every day after work and walk home. Distance = 1.4 km. Increase that to Dundas West (2.1 km) over winter.
2) Ice skating - find out who was interested in that and arrange outings.
3) Tai Chi - call club re classes.
4) Spring: cycle at least twice a week. Seek out local cycling clubs if necessary for motivation.
* Drink more water - aim at two 750ml bottles a day * Drink less alcohol - system needs to detox as it is. * Diet - cut back on the starches again. More salad and vegetables. Eat on weekends.
Personal:
* Counselling - Work on thought records more often. * Guitar - Practice. Every day for fifteen minutes, minimum, after getting home. * Expand social circle - see fitness. Joining some kind of sport club = good. * Furniture - get some for room to counter temporary visitor vibe.
Immediate:
* buy cat food * clean kitty litter weekend done by aisy due to lurghi * clean apartment - sweep and mop floors, vacuum couch, tidy room. Find places for misc. stuff amassed over the last year. Boxes = win. Clean bathroom. weekend * catch up with XP * catch up with email
