Ecoality

Project ongoing, from December 2023 to December 2026

What is it about?

The Ecoality project is an ambitious initiative led by the Tuscany Region, bridging the gap between youth, local authorities, and education systems in ten European countries. It targets nearly 50,000 young people, empowering them with the skills and knowledge to tackle climate change and gender justice through an ecofeminist lens. The project fosters critical thinking and active citizenship, using innovative nonformal education methods to integrate Global Citizenship Education into school curricula and youth activities.

What changes does this project inspire?

Ecoality ignites a transformative wave across Europe, inspiring nearly 50,000 young minds to become catalysts for sustainable change. In Italy, Austria, Croatia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, and Romania, the project drives learning and action, where climate justice meets gender equality through the innovative prism of ecofeminism to re-shaping what’s around us based on the concepts of equity and equality. These values, this approach to life, and alternative choices are not radical or revolutionary but have the potential to revolutionise our world.

Young Europeans are not just learning; they are leading eco-polis labs, crafting awareness campaigns, and engaging in international work camps from the vibrant streets of Thessaloniki to the bustling classrooms of Tuscany. Teachers transform into facilitators of change, guiding students through a journey of empowerment and environmental stewardship. Local authorities evolve from policymakers to active listeners, amplifying youth voices in the pursuit of a greener, more equitable future. Ecoality is more than a project; it’s a movement towards a resilient and caring society that values every voice, every action, and every step towards a sustainable tomorrow.
