In order to play the first few pieces in the Album, which are ‘confined to the five-finger group in each hand, it is only necessary to know how to find notes by position from Middle C. Later, if desired, the pupils may be taught to count up the notes by lines and spaces. Daily finger exercises are included at the beginning. They contain the various time-signatures and note values used in the Album. ‘The Important Steps pages contain new, preparatory material to assist playing the pieces and duet. Use First Duet Album in conjunction with First Album Parts | and 2. ‘Very Fist Step” recommended forthe very young child beginner.
