Travel Grants

Danish Data Science Academy provides funding for students situated in Denmark to attend events outside of Denmark. The purpose of the grant is to enable bachelor’s and master’s students to engage in activities within the international data science community.

Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until September 1, 2026, or until funds are exhausted. All funded travel activity must be completed by October 1, 2026.

Attention:

In 2026, DDSA-funded travels, and visits must have been completed no later than October 1, as we must conclude DDSA’s 5-year budget by December

What does the grant cover?

The grant contributes up to DKK 15,000 to cover costs for travel (arrival and departure), accommodation, visa fees, tuition fees and course/conference fees related to a data science activity outside of Denmark.

The grant does not fund semesters or exchange studies abroad, travels inside of Denmark and does not cover salary, daily allowances, food expenses, daily local transportation expenses, car rentals, health insurance, or course materials.

In general, DDSA promotes the use of public transport and encourages the use of trains and buses. The use of private vehicles or taxis is only allowed if it is justified in terms of cost and time and will have to be pre-approved by DDSA on a case-by-case basis.
