iPad or iBoard

More and more traditional board games are trying to cross over to smartphones. Is this the new millennium? Steve Petersen mused on this on his blog. Your thoughts? I’m too poor to explore it myself.

  1. The iPad is pretty fantastic for board games. Carcassonne on the iPad is fantastic. There definitely needs to be more board games ported to the platform.

But saying that does kind of blur the line between video games and board games. I mean, what do you call the iPad version of Civilization Revolution? It’s a scaled-down version of the PC game series for mobile platforms like the Nintendo DS, iPhone and iPad. It plays basically like a tabletop board game. But it’s an iPad version of a PC game, not a board game.
