Satellite-Estimator Vessel API
Estimate vessel positions effortlessly with the Satellite-Estimator Vessel API (SAT-E), as it provides position predictions similar to satellite AIS. Leveraging the last known position, destination port, and estimated time of arrival (ETA) along the route.
Stay ahead with accurate position predictions while the vessel is out of Terrestrial AIS range.
SAT-E Features:
Vessel Location Data Estimator
When a vessel is out of range, the API estimates its current position based on the last known location using Mathematical Model
Predictive Routing
Utilize advanced algorithms to estimate the vessel’s route and location, including its position after 3 hours of inactivity.
1000000+ Vessels In the Database
Get access to a large number of vessels saved in our database.
SAT-E API Endpoint Example
The purpose of this endpoint is to provide estimated ship position data while the vessel is sailing and out of the AIS range. We utilize AI technology combined with historical data stored in our database to generate these estimates.
The API response includes detailed vessel location data, and at the end of the response, you will find the “Estimated Position” field, which appears as follows:

About Satellite-Estimator Vessel API
Datalastic’s AIS Estimator API is a powerful tool combined with AI intelligence designed to estimate vessel positions even when out of range, ensuring seamless maritime tracking.
The API utilizes the last known position, destination port, and ETA to provide accurate and predictive location data, offering continuous visibility of vessel movements.
This solution is tailored for shipping companies, logistics providers, and maritime professionals who need reliable tracking data to enhance operational efficiency and maintain situational awareness.
When to Use the Estimator of Ship Tracking API?
This endpoint is ideal for scenarios where:
Real-time AIS Data is Unavailable or Delayed
In areas with poor AIS coverage or when a vessel’s transponder is temporarily inactive, the Estimated Position endpoint helps maintain visibility of the vessel’s position.
Planning and Monitoring Requires Projected Locations
The endpoint provides a reliable way to estimate vessel locations based on their last known position, destination, and ETA, aiding in better scheduling and resource allocation.
