What are the "credits" in the pricing table?
Credits refer to the number of database requests (or “calls”) made to Datalastic’s maritime endpoints. However, the credit consumption depends on the specific endpoint you are calling.
One API call does not always equal one credit. The number of credits deducted may vary based on factors such as the number of unique API calls, the number of vessels requested, or the range of days when accessing historical data.
For example:
- Requesting the real-time position of one vessel will equal 1 credit.

How Do Credits works?
1. Monthly Credit Allocation:
Your plan includes a specific number of credits per month. This allocation is reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. For instance, if you have a plan with 20,000 credits per month, your usage starts fresh on the first day of the next billing period.
2. Credit Usage Monitoring & Protection:
To prevent unexpected charges or overspending, we use a smart tracking system that monitors your credit usage throughout the month. If you reach the limit of your allocated credits, the system will automatically block any further requests to protect you from extra costs.
Example:
If you’ve used all of your credits for the month, the system will temporarily block additional API calls until your credits are refreshed at the beginning of the next billing period
What if my request yelds an error, will it be still deducted from my plan?
No, an unsuccessful request to Datalastic maritime Endpoints will not deduct any points from your monthly allowance. Only database calls that actually retrieve the data will be counted for you.
How do I start using Datalastic API?
Datalastic provides self-service API plans, meaning that you can subscribe and receive an API key within 5 minutes.

Can I switch between the plans or cancel any time?
It is totally possible to switch between maritime tracking API plans or cancel your plan in your Account section. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time you wish.
