About the VIB Data Core
Established in 2023, the VIB Data Core is hosted by VIB.AI. It oversees the VIB Data Center, which is housed within Ghent University buildings, and serves as the host for the Belgian ELIXIR node.
Data Core is comprised of four closely collaborating teams that provide integrated services to a diverse range of stakeholders within VIB:
- Data Center Team: provides hardware and infrastructure services, including a compute cluster and storage platforms.
- Data Management Team: supports streamlining research data flows in VIB, offering guidelines, best practices, and platforms to facilitate Open and FAIR science.
- Compute Team: ensures access to advanced software tools and workflows for scalable and reproducible data analysis.
- Operations Team: oversees overall management, communications, and administrative support for the Data Core.
The Data Core collaborates closely with the other Core facilities within the VIB Technologies program.
By strengthening and expanding our dedicated data infrastructure services, we aim to enhance standardization, improve data reproducibility, and elevate data quality. Ultimately, this will increase accessibility, enabling our scientists to transform our vast data resources into more and better research.
