This study aimed to determine the gross happiness of household women in Guimaras and its effect on economic development. Using a descriptive research design employing mixed methods, 49 coastal barangays were covered, and employing a lottery technique based on location, a sample size of 390 coastal women respondents was chosen and computed through the Slovin formula. A stratified systematic random sampling was adopted, identifying sample spots to indicate starting points, assuming a survey method, and a face-to-face interview using a paper questionnaire. Processing and analysis were done using simple statistics and narrations on the experiences of women respondents. Results revealed that coastal women were pleased with their involvement in the different sources/domains of happiness and were just satisfied with their appreciation of the external factors affecting their satisfaction. In the individual domain, they were very happy being with the family, having acquired education, being active in their sex life, having income and financial security, love life engagement, involvement in religion and spiritual work, and leisure and sports. They were happy to be involved in community and volunteer work, have technological know-how, have a current position, be with friends, be in good health, and have food on the table. While they appreciated and felt happy about the present environment, the performance of the government and local politics, as well as easy access to social media. However, their happiness level is also affected by family issues such as their children's future, food security, living expenses for a better life upon retirement, and unemployment. They equated their happiness with the economic developments in the island province. They felt happy with the ongoing infrastructure projects, government social programs, socioeconomic benefits from economic consequences, increasing tourism facilities, healthy business environment, employment opportunities, other community and livelihood projects, and access to health services. However, there was an artificial decline in the economy due to the sea tragedy, which resulted in the difficulty in transporting goods from Iloilo to Guimaras and vice versa, slightly slowing down the business environment.
